Do You Recognize What's Killing the Dems and the Country??..tv |
|
JeususChrist...I've turned into the thing that I swore all my life (I think I was born a political animal)that I would never turn into. I swore I would never be one of those idiot old fucking farts who think the world is coming to an end when they get old. After about 60 years I don't think the world is coming to an end BUT I think "We the People" are. You can't imagine how freaked I've become in the last 4 years. Got a minute??
Do you know how powerful TV is??--I don't think most of you do understand it's power unless you lived in a world where it was nonexistant or rare--like the world before about the 1960's. Do you know that it can brain wash children who cannot even speak a sentence yet?? I've watched a grandchild of 18 months who basically is never allowed tv, go into a trance if he runs into a tv set. They are getting them in the crib. Folks, there has never been a more powerful propaganda tool in the history of the world. No Hitler, no Stalin, no Ceaser ever had anything that could control the mind like this. It would be no problem in this country if it was a vehicle for free and blanced discourse...AS IT SHOULD BE AND AS IT SHOULD BE DEMANDED BY 'WE THE PEOPLE'. In actuality, it is a "beard" for the ideal of freedom of the press and it's an absolute propaganda force of overwhelming power.
Couple that with a corrupt voting system and there is no way that messages and outreach by our party can overcome this. We have only one hope: perhaps if we can make people spit on the tv whenever the evening news comes on, distrust it, mock it for being a corporate tool, etc., we could make some real "grassroots" progress with the vast minions. But until we destroy the beast (and tv will not disappear)by making people feel it is their enemy, we cannot win. May I suggest that the DNC put every dollar and every mind source on exactly how we do this. Because every other 'plan' of ours is merely "spitting into he wind" until the people recognize this powerful tool as a tool of those who wish average Americans mortal harm.

1. And TV isn't all that's brainwashing the masses |
|
I normally listen to public radio on my morning drive to work. This morning I borrowed my daughter's van because I needed the cargo space to pick some stuff up after work. She had her radio tuned to a popular FM station. I was instantly bombarded by some guy who was WAY too excited about selling me a car, followed by a guy screaming at me about how much I needed a High Def wide screen TV set.
After a few minutes I realized that I was feeling like I really did need to get a new car, and, boy a wide screen TV sure would be cool! In five minutes I had already begun to succumb to brainwashing. I couldn't believe it.
Now imagine all those people who get all their news from MSM and who's deepest political thought is four short words that fit on a bumper sticker and who's notion of who the "enemy" is comes from right-wing hate radio pounding "hate all liberals" into their brains, and it's no wonder the US is falling to pieces.

4. fiz--radio has been around for a long time. Even it cannot ever |
|
compete with how deep, instant and powerful tv is. It's sound AND sight all rolled into one. Only something that can also tactically touch you would be more powerful. That is why I said that TV is the root of all this evil. I lived in the world of print and radio and it NEVER had a hold on people like this. Super Bowl would not be SUPER if it was not for tv. Nationalism is now the drum beat of this powerful and now SICK medium.

2. TV, and I would add RW Hate radio |
|
It gets SO many listeners, and they seem to turn into ditto-headed robots.
I see some hope when I see how popular the Daily Show is, and how popular blogs have become. The "fake news" seems to be the only real news and there are LOTS of people who are starting to see that very clearly.

3. And for the last 20 years the GOP has worked to control most of the media, |
|
both tv and radio, and acquiring plenty of print, as well.
That is the issue that must be dealt with by the Dems before they go tinkering with the platform.
Media and BBV.

5. remember 'subliminal' advertising? |
|
many years ago, during the 'new stone age' counterculture, trust no one over 30, small is beautiful era there were revelations about psych ops and advertising being joined together and the dirty tricks that were being used to advance the strange agenda of the corporate pig (aka satan) ....one thing i recall was the way certain alcohol mag ads featured actual words you couldn't see but were aware of; they were superimposed over pics of girls, laughing couples, outdoor adventure scenes etc ...the thing was, the words were freakish, the very opposite of what you'd expect from a feel good product ad, words like maggot, cancer, vomit, evil smothered and so on....at the time the cia etal were exposed for alot of crap, and even the 'expose' might well have been just a plant....the point of this post is that, along with concepts like 'lifeboat ethics' and tv as dangerous drug, subliminal advertising suddenly disappeared from being talked about in the media

6. You know what will SAVE us?... the internets |
|
Because unlike TV which is a passive, non-interactive source of information that just feeds you information, the internets is a n interactive source of information that requires a level of thought.
And its usage is increasing exponentially every day.
Its what is going to save us, at least for the moment.
