and not have any retribution? I've read stories about how many times we've meddled in other countries' affairs, installing dictators, and eradicating real democracies.

Does anyone really believe that BushCo would be in the least interested in the government in Venezuela if it didn't have oil?

Just as Saddam's doings in Iraq would have deserved a shrug if it didn't have oil, so Venezuela is of major importance.
