What happens to superdelegates when a candidate drops out? |

Sorry if this has been asked before, but do they customarily give their support to another candidate if the candidate they endorsed drops out? Or do they wait until the convention to realign?
Thanks for the help.
Edit: typo

that superdelegates are required to pledge to any particular candidate. It's my impression they can vote as they think best from the very beginning. Anyone else know different?

2. They are entitled to do whatever they please. |

And they are just as reliable as the air their endorsements are written in.
They can be relied to jump upon a bandwagon but if there isn't a clear winner when the convention opens the wheeling and dealing begins in earnest.
If you thought the Iowa caucus was amazing to watch, wait until you see a brokered convention. THAT is just amazing.
