Our No. 1 target in 2006 should be Tom DeLay
Edited on Fri Feb-25-05 09:44 PM by quaoar
He is a lying, sleazy sack of shit and we should go all out to defeat him in 2006.

His opponent in 2004, Richard Morrison, is running again in 2006. Morrison gave DeLay a major scare last year, forcing him to spend money and actually show up in his district. Additionally, every day DeLay had to spend in his district was a day he wasn't able to funnel money to his fellow sleazebags in other districts.

The Democratic Party should make a commitment to spend whatever it takes to take this bastard down.

1. He and Rick Santorum BOTH must be defeated!
Edited on Fri Feb-25-05 09:21 PM by ih8thegop
Defeating both would throw a wrench into Republican morale for some time to come.

14. Hatch is up in 2006
But he might retire -- in which case there is a viable Democratic candidate who has a chance of taking that seat.

3. With any luck Delay will be in the slammer by 2006.
Raw Story says more damaging news on Delay breaking tomorrow.

4. I suggest that the AARP encourage its members to take up
residency in Texas long enough to vote in 2006. They have the time, the money and the motorhomes to do it. They also could move into the guest rooms of fellow AARP members in Texas. How many pissed off retired folks would it take? If Cheney could instantly move out of Texas to run with Bush, how hard can it be to move in?

5. Agreed... he's one of the worst of the lot
But the repug Congress just LOVE him-- it'll be a tough fight (and, most likely, a rigged one).

But, yes, GET RID OF HIM!!!!!

6. It would be wonderful for Delay to go
Whether brought down by scandal or an election, Delay is a symbol of what is wrong with todays republicans.

9. Target is a bad word. Just seek out the truth. Target is what the
rabid repukes would do because their hearts & souls are controlled and they attack on command. Liberals are better than that. Look for the truth where Delay is concerned. And seek to defeat the "hate spewing" Santorum because he spreads such hate.

11. Since when does the truth always triumph?
If that were the case, Democrats would be in control of Congress and Bush would be deciding what the other book in his presidential library should be besides My Pet Goat.

15. When manipulators sneak into power had have cultured a 'base' of the
weak (the South afraid of change in the world and loosing their way of life) the Truth is the first thing to go. We have to fight for it. But the truth is on our side.

Don't give up your humanity. The truth doesn't always win but it has changed the world since it was invented in 1650. And these lies - they are transient. They are based on a well coordinated plan and the holes are everywhere. They will not last forever with their lies & sociopathy. It is a trick - albeit a very long one. But the truth shall set us all free. Stick to the truth. As long as you do not let them separate you from yourself - as long as you can laugh and cry and the truth - you will be okay. Your freeper friends have sorry lives to lead when this is all over. A lie may be the 'biggest' emotion they felt their whole lives. Plus they gave up being the good human beings they could have been. And they stopped being adults. And they hurt people.

You are doing fine. Punch through to the truth.

16. The South is not afraid of change
We have lived through far more tumultous change than other region of the country. I live in Alabama. The Alabama of today might as well be a different planet from the Alabama of 1963 when Bull Connor was turning fire hoses and dogs on peaceful demonstrators.

17. I think all Americans are afraid of not being the biggest Democracy
in the world. What exactly do you think Star Wars is about - it is about having control of the world. You are not big or rich enough to be in control of the world. Anymore. Russia, EU, China, Brazil, India will all seperately be bigger than the USA - with much bigger middle classes.

I guess I mean that like all of us, I am Canadian, America has to face a change one more time, and for you it will be a much different world. And all that change doesn't go over as easily when your culture is not as international as the blue states are. It means you have to change your personal myths and I think the current WH leaders exploit that fear into delusion big time. Though I have still not figured out who is zooming who (neocons, Rovbots, gop, corporatons, big Oil, ??). Perhaps it is like snakes mating - just a big ole pile.

IMHO

12. Delay is the image we have to hang on all
their candidates . We need to make him the face of the GOP just as we did with Newt . And as others have said here , we need to broaden our attack from just responding to Bush to Republican policies and people in general . We need to be honest , relentless and merciless in our description of these liars who are waging class warfare against the greeat majority of the country .
