Any Jerry Springer fans out there? |
|
I've been listening to his show a few times now. I think it's pretty good. It's different than most. He stays close to topic each day.

2. You know, he is doing a good job and makes great points |

Unfortunately, he's got so much baggage. The only good thing is that he may bring in a lot of his redstate fans from his television show that may get a strong dose of the truth and maybe it will sink in....
I'm from Cincinnati though, grew up there and know that while Jerry was running for govenor, he wrote a personal check to a prostitute. Listen, everyone makes mistakes and that was an incredibly huge mistake in judgment, but having said that, his political views are intelligent.
The right will latch on to his past and as a result, he will never be taken seriously as a commentator by the majority of the population.

What about Limbaugh(recent drug addict)? or O'Lielly(phone sex scandal)? or G. Gordon Liddy(sp?)(convicted criminal)?
Springer is small potatoes compared to these guys. America will buy it. They bought his stupid TV show, didn't they?

The point the poster was making is that because jerry Springer's politics are liberal he will be trashed by the media and right wing for his past behavior. Unlike those you mentioned... IOKIYAR
Believe it or not Springer is to the left politically and he has been considering a run for Govenor in OH. Given the choices, I would vote for him in a heartbeat.
Remember... IOKIYAR.. 'Its okay if you are republican'

that's exactly what I was trying to point out. What do you think would have happened if say Al Franken was taking oxycontin for other than medicinal purposes...and buying it on the street????

14. You said population, not media, |
|
and I really don't see how they can touch him when so many others on the right have similar, if not worse, issues. Limbaugh and Liddy would look stupid trying to attack Springer.

5. you've got the scandal wrong |

he was NOT running for governor. he was mayor.
anyway, i think he's atoned by now (it was nearly 30 years ago), and if that is out of the closet (and it is) from the beginning, he'll nail down the yahoo vote.
they love jerry.
go jerry! stick it to the GOP!

Jerry was a Cincinnati City Councilmen when the check incident occurred. He resigned from council but was subsequently elected mayor with the largest plurality in the city's history. He was only thirty-three years old at the time. He didn't run for governor until several years later.

12. I'm a political fan of his...but not a TV fan. If the bushivites can |
|
overlook his indescreshions...then Democrats should be able to overlook Springers.

15. Hate him as a trash TV host but |
|
love him as a political figure. I haven't heard his radio show but I did hear a very interesting piece about his political career on the NPR show This American Life. I was very impressed and I've actually gained tremendous respect for him. Too bad he got so far off track with that trash TV show.
