This is important... a vote for cloture is not a vote for a bill, it is a vote to vote on a bill.
So Dems voting aye are voting to vote on the bill, not voting on the bill per se. If the cloture vote fails, the bill can either be fillibustered or shelved.
I did hear them say that Byrd voted aye, disappointing yes but Sen. Byrd has often voted for cloture on bills that he wants to vote against so that he has an opportunity to record his vote.

7. True. Let's see how many YES on cloture are NO votes on passage. |
|

Traditionally a YES vote on cloture is a YES vote on the impending bill, but not always, of course. Let's hope this is the case with Byrd.
Otherwise, there are a lot of Dems on my shit list.

And I don't give a flying fuck if Kathrine Harris is running against him!!
I'm tired of supporting Dems who stab us in the back.

Democrats can't stand up to the banks and credit card companies and vote against this still egregiously one-sided bill, what is really to distinguish them from Republicans?

11. She said she's voting against the Bankruptcy Bill... |
|
I didn't watch her speech but my mom told me that Feinstein said that she had voted for it in committee on the promise of bipartisanship when it came to working out the final details. She said that there had not been any bipartisanship on the part of the Republicans as amendment after amendment put up by the Democrats was voted down, therefore she will vote against the final bill.
