Forty-one Democrats, four Republicans and one independent voted for the Democratic proposal. All the votes in opposition were cast by Republicans.

All 38 votes in favor of the GOP proposal were cast by Republicans. Opposed were 43 Democrats, one independent and 17 Republicans\\\\

the sheeple are just plainly stupid to put up with this

1. How did it pass with only 38 votes?
Am I missing something?

4. We're screwed
Corporations and Evangelicals own the Republicians Party. If it's not Jesus its the $. Either way, we'll lose freedoms, livable wages, and a future to look forward to.

5. I agree
Opposed were 43 Democrats, one independent and 17 Republicans...

I think even the Repub version was better than nothing, and that is what the poor have now, NOTHING.
My father use to tell me a half of a loaf is better than nothing at all.

6. It wasn't the wage increase the Dems were voting against.
It was the baggage Santorum added.
