37% vs. 52%--Roadmap. Now Dems, pull over and read it!!!!
Ticker on MSNBC today. "Whatever" Poll (didn't take note) shows that only 37% of the people favor Bush's SS meddling. And, just so that we don't think (gasp) that our Lord and Savior has become impotent, they follow with: 52% like his foreign policy (the mouth shooting off foot plan)and handling of terrorism (scream about it constantly to divert attention from everything else). This 'poll' shows more than just the subjects mentioned. It shows the Dems that they should be mentioning not only domestic issues but, in particular, those issues that rip the guts right out of the common average American. Stay away from engaging completely in the other rhetoric as the Repubs want. That's why I desperately want to see them mention when on political shows the "consumption" tax waiting in the wings. Let them spew out the 26 to 30% that the republicans (DeLay, etc.) are proposing and that Frist is saying it will not be in place of income tax. I promise you that with a few such "dropping" those figures on air, the whole country will be buzzing about it within a week. That would turn any support for these bastards on any front to 37% in no time. It would make anything they bring up in Congress be suspicious to the American people.

1. Since when do Dems do the smart thing?
If they were REALLY smart, they'd start talking, loudly and in unison, about the black box voting issues. Until/unless we get the election process cleaned up so that VOTES COUNT (accurately), we're NOT going to be able to do anything!

The American people are SOOOOO screwed!

3. THEY? THEY?
The party is only as good as we are. When's the last time you attended your county Dem meeting, much less volunteered for a committee?

4. You know the answer to that, Class Warrior....
I'm ALL ABOUT this issue! Always have been, since BEFORE 2000, and will continue to be!

But you're correct: EVERY PERSON has to be involved, all the time, until we get our elections back!

2. It is up to us to start grassroots to get all dems on the same message....
go to your local dems meetings, call/write your dems reps. make a sign and picket the local repub party HQ. and call the newspaper before you do :-) It is great theater and generates interest.

5. Didn't we try that in '02?
Remember when all those Democrats voted for the Iraq war so we could put that to the side and make the election about domestic issues? That didn't work so well. We have to challenge the Republicans on all fronts.

9. Just Say No to any changes in SS.
Real reform can wait until people of real good will (of either party) are in the WH. You simply cannot compromise with this current crew.
