Outrageous: Bush accuses opponents of privitization of RACISM

Bush and Racism

Here's the president of the United State using a straw-man argument to implicitly accuse opponents of his plan of being racist.

In Louisville, he said: "Oh, I know they say certain people aren't capable of investing, you know, the investor class. It kind of sounds like to me, you know, a certain race of people living in a certain area. I believe everybody's got the capability of being in the investor class. I believe everybody should be allowed to watch their own assets grow, not just a few people."

Keen made mention of that quote in her USA Today story, but then simply explained that "Bush is trying to overcome concerns that investment accounts are too risky for anyone but the wealthy and are out of reach for minorities."

No one, as far as I can tell, took notice of Bush's implicit accusation of racism -- in fact it looks like no one but Keen mentioned it at all.

7. If the hungry & the desperate have access to retirement cash- they will

spend it on their kids, etc. The hungry & the working poor will be much more common in this New American Century as Growth Rates in the USA (courtesy Bush SS plan estimates) will be abysmal. Anyone who does not have the money to have half of their wealth invested in foreign markets will be not doing well at all. They will need that SS money and then there will be nothing at the end. Or all it will take is one crisis and the person's SS investment is over. Low level deflation & low growth rates will be the norm. Full employment will never occur if 'guest workers' become the norm.

Bush loves to stir the pot. Why is it so hard to call him on this? Because he says these things in a stage-managed event so nobody there is thinking for himself.

The real question is what are his plans to prepare America and share the risk of income loss & stoppage during this New American Century. What basic things can America insure its people with to keep costs down in the health care field and share the risk of being in a much riskier world? For sure foreign trade will lower the cost of health care.. if the Bush stops 'making up laws in his head' to help his pharmaceutical buddies. (Again one set of rules for Bush & his pals, one set of rules for everybody else).

Cause you know what? The excess cash in this ownership society is not going to be re-invested in the USA - all the wealth will be re-invested outside the USA. So "trickle down" is not even a joke anymore.
