Dean on CSPAN finds new strength in Town Hall format!
I had given up on HD after Monday's disastrous speech.

But watching this presentation, this guy's views are so solid, so precise, so well thought out, so well stated, so true, and often fly in the face of the things ANY of the other candidates would say, that he has just GOT to be our nominee.

If he can find away to apologize for Monday night, and stop that godam rah-rah "You Have The Power!" stuff at the end of his speeches, and stay somber and on message, he will beat the stuffings out of Bush.

1. I agree
I saw HD give a town hall forum on Tuesday in Concord (?) on C-Span and he is fantastic. Enough of the arm waving and bellowing--this is the Howard I enjoy most of all (of course I like a bit of the old Howard when he does a straight stump speech). He is outstanding in this format and it will help him tonight with the debate.

I'm still banking that Dean will be the "comeback Kid" of '04.

2. He is doing great!
I'm a Clark supporter, but I'm glad to see Dr. Dean doing this well. And, gosh, here Fox News said the man was "done!" (I should say that I found nothing wrong with his actions earlier this week. It is consistent with his being an honest-to-goodness, feeling human being. If he is our candidate, I'm proud to support him!)

3. he has nothing to apologize for
I have not seen such spin about nothing since the fake outrage over Paul Wellstone's memorial.

4. he is doing a really good job today.
I am not on the HD bandwagon or anyone else's yet.

I've been sitting here watching this town hall while studying and he is doing a really, really good job. He is definitely "on" and I haven't heard a fumble yet.

It's performances like this that has given him such a strong following-I can see the attraction.

One thing I do appreciate is his constant Bush Bashing.

Well at least I have until Feb 10th to stay on the fence!

5. Scream or no scream--he is much more substantial

Than those candidates who talk about how "electable" they are all the time.

They sound like walking commercials.

Dean talks about issues and policies---which is why I went for him in the first place.

8. The Howard Dean you see in a "Town Hall" meeting
is the Howard Dean Vermonters know and love. He only began giving those passionate firebrand speeches during the primaries because he knew that's what the base needed. He knew he had to set fires underneath the asses of the rest of the party to get them on task. That's not the Howard Dean you would see in the general election and it's not the Howard Dean you'd see as president. He's not angry at all, he has simply been giving his supporters what they need to be motivated and excited.
