Do you think that the dems are too scared to speak |
|
about all the scandals of the administration because they fear for their lives and/or their loved ones lives? I mean if some things are true and the WH is responsible for sending anthrax to people, killing off our soldiers in their war about lies, outing an cia agent etc etc... maybe they seriously fear for their lives?

1. I think when they do speak the media won't cover it or discuss it |
|
with the average American broadcast viewer and listener.

No, I think they've been corrupted by the corporate lobby and rich donors.. and intimidated by the extremely pro-Bush, rightwing media.
They simply have no spines.

The neo-fascists are readying a civil war to rid themselves of those of us who have refused to drink the kool aide.

anthrax
airplane "missiles"
epidemic "suicides"
the unpatriotic "Patriot Act" that allows them to imprison and torture anyone the AG labels a "terrorist"
why would they be scared?

6. Another thing I've noticed about Bushco - they do so much so fast |
|
it would be hard for the Democrats to keep up. Hard to have investigations when the repubs won't allow it and by that time it's old news. Bushco does a great job of keeping things out of the news. What does get to the news has a lifespan of a couple of days. Plus the repubs shout louder and repeat the mantra so often people think it's the truth and just forget about it. Like 60% think WMD have been found in Iraq or Sadam was involved in 9-11.
The Dems need a very big stick and a way to keep this crap in front of the American sleeping public. Maybe they could have a reality TV show. That seems to be the only thing holding America's attention the last few years.

7. Yep. Thes Busheviks have implemented Trotsky's Perpetual Revolution |
|
But then, they are Authoritarian Totalitarians, just like Stalin, Lenin, and Trotsky (though some might argue he wasn't like the other two).
It is unsurprising to me when they behave like Totalitarians from the Left or the Right.
It actually surprises me on the extremely rare occasions when they DON'T act like Totalitarians.

the only way to get the country's attention!

8. I think a lot of them don't want to "rock the boat", but |
|
Edited on Mon Mar-14-05 04:33 PM by FrenchieCat
someone should inform them that the boat is already underwater.
Dems thinking of speaking out understand that it may not be the best career move in how what they say will be represented in the press.
Since it does take some courage, I am not certain that many Dems have the intestinal fortitude to go through what they might have to go through. Looking out for yourself is not a sign of courage, but a sign of cowardise....so don't hold your breath for any real major breakthroughs.
You could say that many are just scared gutless.

That's why we need someone on the outside. Like CLARK and Dean.

18. Well as you know..... |
|
It's standing when everyone else is sitting down that counts. Something Clark knows about.
Some of these Dems are waiting for someone else to stand up before they will....
kinda of like the days at the dance when your favorite song came on. You would ask your date for a dance; and this is what you got back in response...."I'll dance with you but I don't want us to be the only ones dancing....so let's wait until another couple get out on the floor". Pretty soon the song was over and you were pissed at your date.
Rank in file Democrats want to dance, but these Dem leaders are our dates.

most Democrats in both Houses of Congress are weak. Never have I seen a party that does not wish to fight back. Hell, we would rather fight amonst ourselves then fight the Republicans and Bush. What we have here is a party that I call THE PINK TUTU WEARING DEMOCRATS. JOE LIBERMAN leads the list....

Cause their jobs is their lives. That's the reason many are so easily cowed.

17. They tend to speak up a little more when they retire. Also, because |
|
'not destroying democracy in the Middle East' seems to be helping democracy in the Middle East... it looks like you could stick your neck out and talk about something... but all people will remember is the 'legacy' of Bush. Of course History will tell the real story... but who wants to stick your neck out, be turned into an "anti-American" for a time, and then be legitimized by history in 20 years. All while you are retired. Does not compute.
Even the reporters that got targeted are quiet. You have to wait for a safe time and issue to stick your head out.
