Another Rovian angle re: DeLay "scandal"
Sure enough, his latest blunder is super-serious. No, no, not the one about pulling the plug on his dad. That is the story the media has been told to run with, as Rove prepares to sacrifice DeLay. The House Leader is an anchor on the president right now, a fellow Texas boy gone bad, and his recent caper did what his other serious ethical lapses (read: crimes) hadn't done as yet...embarrassed the president, and cost him a bundle in that infamous political capital. He's going down, we can pretty much count on that.

But, but simultaneously feeding this to all the MSM outlets, The Party should also be able to use the contrived "feeding frenzy" they've created to reinforce the concept of the evil "liberal media," which will tie into the activist judges angle somehow, blah blah blah.

It may be verging on tin foil territory, but if we've learned anything, it is that we cannot put anything past these guys; they'll be able to excise a cancer (the Bugman), shore up the crumbling wall of bullshit regarding a liberal media, then blame most of their troubles on that same liberal media, offering the DeLay nonsense (voracious attacks on DeLay about his personal decision) as proof. They'll absolve themselves, just like they always manage to do when they get busted.

Care to place your bets?

1. I'm not convinced that Rove is some evil genius he just knows that
he'll get what the GOP wants a lot easier by breaking all the rules and acting as indecently as possible. I don't doubt that Rove will pull exactly what you just said I just don't think he thinks ahead like that.

3. I think Rove very much reacts to the moment, where he has the dems is in
brazeness, lack of ethics and continuous exploitation of current events. Sure he has plans, but he doesn't necessarily make plans for every possible variable.

5. I agree, this Schiavo effort was to boost Jeb in 2008
but it backfired bigtime, so is the statement that Bush was reluctant to sign the bill, then why did he fly back to DC and sign the bill in his PJs

can better react.

8. I think there is more at play here
I have heard that there is legal action in CA regarding Enron, now I think that this is an attempt to distract from it, now when the allegations come, it will be persecution by liberal judges

4. I was just thinking the same thing
Either they completely control the media and the coverage, or should something slip through, they scream "liberal media" and act the martyrs.

We desperately need to be out of that box!

6. This scandal needs to put a brown stain on, if not
take down Reed, Vitter, and a few others -if there is any justice.

9. yes that was truly pathetic
it amazes me just how ruthless these people are, to not only deliberately defraud people but then to try to sell them term life after they have already stripped them not only of their money, but their vehicle to make money (i.e. the casino)

10. Rove's no genius, he's a fat thug, but even fat thugs get their punches in
Even after that godforsaken racist assclown Lee Atwater, folks still forget the depths that the GOP will stoop to to stay in power.
