GOP Chair Mehlman is talking about education, private schools and scholarships when you see a sudden change of expression on his face . . .

You hear the Rev. Yearwood (PDA Policy Board Co-Chair) in the background in a muffled voice saying something like " . . .never . . not on our campus . . " (Yearwood is an Alum at Howard)

The camera cuts to the rear of the room and you see the Rev. charging in crouching down with a security guard on his back and a megaphone held tightly in his arms (like a football) . . The Rev. struggles to stand to hold his megaphone . . the guard is struggling to take him down, and the Rev. shouts, " . . . not on our campus . . tell the truth . . not on our campus . ."

The guard takes the Rev. down, and while he is being dragged down, the Rev. shouts, " . . done too much to minorities for years . . "

The Rev. struggles back to his feet and he shouts, " . . not on our campus . . . " Then two guards take him down to the floor and there is a loud thud . . . which is the Rev hitting the floor . . as two guards drag him out on the floor the Rev. shouts something more, but, you can't understand him.

RNC Chairman Ken Mehlman Takes “Conversations With The Community” To Howard University In Washington, DC

Washington, DC – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Ken Mehlman visited Howard University tonight, taking his on-going “Conversations With The Community” series to college students.

The Howard University College Republicans hosted the forum under the theme of Empowering A New Generation, where Chairman Mehlman made opening remarks and engaged students in a Q&A.

“Empowering this new generation with the right to ownership is essential and Republican policies are leading the way,” said Chairman Mehlman.

Howard University College Republicans Co-Chair, Adam Hunter, said of Mehlman’s visit, “This is monumental for us right now. It shows that the people at the top of the party are really paying attention to the issues of younger African-Americans and this is just an example of things to come.”

Chairman Mehlman’s “Conversations With The Community” series has been extremely successful in promoting an open dialogue between the Republican Party and African-American community. Today’s event is the Chairman’s first of the series with students.

“Tonight’s town hall allowed me the opportunity to listen and to share. Ownership through education, ownership through a retirement nest egg, ownership through small businesses and home ownership, create opportunities that help close the economic gap and help create wealth in the African-American community,” Chairman Mehlman explained.

Howard University is one of the most prominent Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCU’s) in the nation.
