Terri: "Where there is life, there's hope." Pope: "See ya, Popey." |

Where's John Paul's feeding tube? I heard it for two fucking weeks..."Where there is life there is hope." Or were the fundies just full of shit. No need to answer that. NEW NBY Toon - "Passion Fruits"

1. He has a feeding tube. |
|
It's a naso-gastric one. Additionally, he is receiving agressive therapy for his illnesses.

Thanks for the info. Go Pope, go!
BTW, I'm reminded of an old National Lampoon headline from when the current pope was selected...
"John Paul Elected Pope; George, Ringo miffed"

the Pope is considered an "antichrist" figure by most (not all) fundies.
It doesn't mean they wish him dead necessarily, but their endtime theology has the Pope being the False Prophet who leads all but the very elect astray into perdition.

One major problem with the whole Schiavo affair has been a 'muddying of the waters' as regards end-of-life issues. The Catholic Church's position is not nearly as extreme as that held by many of the protestors' and their spokesmen. The Church does not insist on using heroic measures or upon extending life 'at all costs'.

7. Not quite that. But he's walking the walk. |
|
I think it's, no extraordinary measures to prolong life, and a feeding tube is an ordinary measure.
In a way, he's luckier than Schiavo, who had a young, functioning body that could keep going for another fifteen years OR LONGER. The pope has underlying illnesses and is old. There's an end in sight, no matter how many treatments and tubes he gets.
