And Michael Oxley, the Republican congressman from Findlay, Ohio, doesn't have to spend his own money on it.

Rather, when a chauffeured Cadillac drives him around Manhattan, the bills -- $25,000 for just the last two years -- go to a political account. Same with his 47 private jet rides in the same period, and his annual ski outing in Vail, Colo., and golf games in Arizona and Florida

<snip>
Republican Roy Blunt of Missouri, with two dozen rides aboard private jets in the last two years -- to destinations including a Virgin Islands resort -- had his political account pay for Fleetwood Mac tickets. He also bought $9,200 worth of coasters -- the kind you put under drinks to protect the coffee table -- from one of Washington's finest jewelry stores, the Tiny Jewel Box.

House Majority Leader Tom DeLay uses his account for planes, restaurants, hotels and golf from Palm Desert, Calif., to Puerto Rico -- and for good cigars. He spent more than $1,400 in tobacco stores in the last two years

...more of them

2. conservatism?
They oppose democrat spending, at the same time borrow billions for Iraq. They favor state's rights, unless states disagree with them. They are all for the separation of powers, unless they disagree with the judiciary.
