Bush and war crimes
This is what I get from someone about stating the obvious that Bush and his administration are war criminals...

"not to be flip, but I'm sure that every administration is guilty of some war crimes. Does that make it right? no..but I hardly think is the first. He's just the most hated. Saddam commited war crimes against his own people and I didn't see the "horror" from the left as much as I see it about"

Why doesn't it bother people? The right is so up in arms about Terry but yet allow children die of hunger everyday and go without insurance. Let's not even talk about all the soldiers who are dieing in this ill conceived war etc etc. It's been a long time since I had a rant and I'm about to explode!

1. The "everyone does it" defense. I hear it, too.
Of course, if everyone is guilty, then no one is guilty. Funny how that works out!

BTW: If you spend time around adolescents, you'll notice they use the "everyone does it" excuse a lot....'nuff said.

2. incredulous as it may sound, most Americans still believe . . .
that the president and the government have their best interests at heart, and that whatever they do MUST be in the best interests of the country . . . much of this has to do with their being so uninformed about what's REALLY happening in the world, thanks in large part to the deficiencies (and downright lies) of the so-called "mainstream media" . . . it also has to do with the widespread desire of people to have someone else handle the heavy lifting for them, leaving them to pursue their own lives without having to really think about unpleasant things like war, torture, environmental degradation, and all the rest of it . . . in short, they're lazy, and they don't want to be bothered . . .

this will all change, however, when the crimes and other misdeeds of BushCo start to impact them directly -- when gas hit $3/gallon or more, when the draft in reinstated, when the housing bubble bursts, when their pensions disappear, etc. . . they'll start paying attention, but only when it becomes impossible for them not to . . .

3. Look at the Dems who ignore the war crime charges against Clinton, Clark.
The Balkans were intentionally destabilized for economic integration into the US/European corporate matrix. Pipelines for Caspian Sea oil and gas are key to the region.

NATO (really the US, just like Iraq) committed war crimes against civilians and their infrastructure and journalists.

Wesley Clark fans ignore this or claim that lives were saved with depleted uranium and clusterbombs and the financing of terrorist groups and mercenaries.

Most people have no idea who runs the US government, how, or why. They are content to play 'blue team/red team' sports with people's lives.
