So now the Pope was the "Great Communicator"? Hmmm... |
|
It's like they took the exact same script they used when Reagan died and are using it for the Pope.
No offense to the Catholics who do buy into the guy (I do not. Someone who is essentially elected by his peers and not chosen by God is not the top authority to God, IMO), but are there any other RW icons left to die that will illicit this much coverage?
All that runs through my mind is how the RW news will cover Margaret Thatcher's death and they'll say the same Reagan talking points about her.
Apparently everyone on the Right is a "Great Communicator".

Bet it's more than you and I combined.
And there is no denying he had a way with crowds.
The Pope has always been called a great communicator.

During his reign nearly all of the sex abuse scandals were covered up and priests were protected and foisted on unsuspecting Catholic parents and children, the Magdalene Laundries were still open in Ireland - - - the list goes on.
Are you still a great man of peace when you allow and have knowledge of such happenings on your watch?
How many languages could he say "cover up" in?

10. That's still not exactly tolerant |
|
because it chastizes the very thing that makes homosexuals different than everyone else.
His entire view on sexuality was skewed (of course a vow of celebesy does that).
I mean Abortion is murder, but birth control pills or condoms are wrong and the Vatican will rail against that as well.
I guess I refuse to let some guy who was elected by guys that were implicit in covering up thousands of rapings of children tell me what is right and wrong.

His views on sexuality are those of the Catholic Church -- Just because YOU don't agree with the views doesn't make them wrong...just different. For the record, I am a die hard populist democrat, and I just don't see why Homosexuality is suddenly part of the democratic ideology. Don't get me wrong, I really couldn't care any less what two people do in their bedroom, why doesn it have to become a political platform.
Birth control pills prevent conception in the first place most of the time. The "prevent implantation in the uterus" is old news.

16. The Pope for the most part, sets the views of the Church |
|
And yes taking up the GLBT cause should be a part of our ideology just as taking up any other civil rights fight is part of our place as caring compassionate Democrats. Especially when our opposition is so vehemently going out of their way to attack them.
I think if you read most things in the bible or listen to the archaic views of the Church you come to realize that their views are wrong and are set to purposely keep people in the very prison of fear that keeps church membership high and donations (in hopes of a trip to heaven) to the church flowing.
The Vatican, the Pope, the Bible... all manmade scams. It's too bad that most Christians won't wake up to reality to see it. Blind Faith is NOT a good thing to have in a World where people are looking to pull the wool over your eyes anyways.

I think you have delusions of persecution. The Pope also said heterosexual sex with birth control is wrong. Suggest you get the chip off of your shoulder.

One thing I thought was perfectly appropriate about Reagan's funeral and the symbol that reflected his time in office was when they were leading the lone saddled horse with Reagan's boots in the stirrups backwards. Perfect symbolism.

Conservative leaders Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher and the Pope for bringing down the USSR. I believe his name is Jeff Greenfeld. But didn't the Pope appose the Chimps war? Another thought the Pope chose to not go to the Hospital or take extraordinary measures to stay alive, isn't that similar to what TS husband did.
