How do you feel about political rumors? |
|
If I knew a rather juicy piece of gossip, completely hearsay, concerning '08 election season, would you want to know?

3. Let me guess...we're all going to be voting on paper only and with |
|
three teams of counters and overseers and with complete security. Bingo?

4. Nah. We get enough of that. |
|
Can you imagine if the corporate cable news shows were forced to back up their statements with verification? Probably 80% of what we hear would prove to be gossip, hearsay and lies. (And I'm probably being optimistic to say 80%!)
Now if you had a hysterically funny story to tell, I'd love to hear that! :7

Maybe if it comes to pass, I'll pull this thread back up and say, "see, this was it!"

6. Hell yes! We want to know. You can't tease and not tell! It is against |
|
the DU rules (I'm sure it is in there somewhere).
Spill it!

8. ok... but the setup is like a soap opera... and I did say it was hearsay |
|
I have a friend who is a lobbyist who frequents the same drinking establishment as an unnamed mid-level DNC official.
Seems the DNC is preparing questionaires to every Dem who is considering running for president, asking who they feel would be the best VP, Sec of state, Sec of Defense, etc.
The purpose of which, I suppose, is to assemble an '08 dream team.
But hey! She was the one who told my friend who told me and I posted it here (whew!) that Kerry would be secretly involved in the Ohio recount effort but the DNC was being careful not to allow him to be "Gored." And Kerry did dip his toes in about a week later.

12. Ooh if that's true, its a great idea |
|
We do need to start thinking about that sort of thing. There will be a lot of cleaning up to do after 2008

13. That counts as a juicy rumor? |
|
I presumed that they did stuff like that. The juicy rumor would be if you knew which candidates were picking which teams.

16. Thanks. Your friend was right about the Ohio recount, too. Too many here |
|
never saw your post, though. They complain Kerry and the DNC never lifted a finger without knowing any of the behind-the-scenes stuff that was going down to prevent the media from employing their typical hatchet job against the Democrats.

9. Well do have one or not? I love rumor and innuendo, but I'm not real |
|
Edited on Sun Apr-03-05 06:52 PM by bush_is_wacko
good at mystery. If it's a rumor maybe we can ferret out an answer!
On Edit: The rumor is really just great political strategy IMO. I hope it is accurate. They ought to be looking at what their constituents think of their dream teams!

|
Your rumor isn't one of those, so carry on. :)
