Congressmen to Talk at Anti-Judge Conference (Judges Pose "Mortal Danger")
Edited on Tue Apr-05-05 12:20 AM by Hissyspit
Delay and others to speak; it is sponsored by the "Judeo-Christian Council for Constitutional Restoration"... and will be held April 7 & 8. I have added active link to the conference's website, like in John's original post at americablog:

From John at Americablog:
Members of Congress speaking at conference that says judges pose a "mortal danger"
by John in DC - 4/4/2005 11:32:00 PM

Congress' anti-judge fervor grows by the hour.

Embattled Congressman Tom DeLay and conservative Senators Sam Brownback and Tom Coburn are scheduled to speak this week at a conference in Washington, DC that blasts "unbridled" judges as posing a "mortal danger", apparently to those who have the misfortunte of appearing in their courtroom.

On the conference's Web site, its organizer calls the Republican Baptist-faithed judge in the Terri Schiavo case "an activist Florida judge who, in effect, passed a death sentence on Terri Schiavo." The site criticizes "liberal judges" who "defy the will of the people" in order to "force their radical theories on the nation," and it also notes that these judges have apparently declared "war."

FORMER State Justice Roy Moore and Phyllis Schafly to speak, as well...

3. Absolutely!
I guess we can only hope that this crap backfires as much as their actions in Congress in the Schiavo matter.

2. "force their radical theories on the nation,"
Like the radical theory that a corrupt Rep. from Texas should get his ass in a sling for his numerous ethical violations.

9. While we're on the subject of radical theories, Mr. DeLay
what about the theory that we should overturn the independence of the judiciary, brushing aside the Constitutional separation of powers??
Isn't that a bit radical?

4. They all took an oath to uphold the Constitution ...
and by actively seeking to undermine the courts, they are violating that oath. Congress has no business commenting and/or interfering in the judicial system. Separation of powers ... does that ring a bell gentlemen? :eyes:

THROW 'EM OUT OF OFFICE!

It's not going to win you any NEW friends among the judges. And are you SURE you want to stay on this Judeo-Christian tip? The Terri Schiavo thing wasn't exactly a success. And moderate Republicans and Christians are still woozy after the Jesus-freak show that paraded past Terri's hospice and into their living rooms!
