The Presidential trip to Rome (and the lying whitehouse)
Edited on Wed Apr-06-05 06:08 PM by MollyStark
Here is the picture of the Whitehouse delegation to the Popes funeral. Condaleeza Rice and Andrew Card had to go, but there was no room for Carter.

The ski bunny Brian Williams said that when Carter first asked he was told that none of the other Presidents were going and when he found out that Bush and Clinton had decided to go, he was told other people wanted to go, so he "backed off". According to skibunny Carter said "there is no desention between him and the whitehouse over this. But Carter is too much of a gentleman to say anything else.

That just isn't good enough for me. Carter should have been the FIRST person they took. When he let it be known he wanted to go (because they were too clumsy and dim to think of him)they should have said "Yes of course" and qietly told Condi or Card they had to stay home.

I am past disgusted.

Thank you for telling me. I am going to stick up for Carter even if he is too gracious to make a fuss.

6. Bushie and his fellow clowns are probably to stupid to realize
that Carter was the first President to welcome Pope John Paul II to America. Carter has more class in his little pinky that Bushie has in his entire body!

7. Is it just me, or does * look constipated?
Or maybe it's just his "pious" face. Low-class rubes.

To see Andrew Card in that lineup and not have Carter there at all is just more evidence as to the low-down underhanded tactics of georgie porgie and WTF is Clinton doing without him too. How dare he show his once again sell out face.

And I hope I'm not out of line, but these people aren't Catholic are they? So, going in there and kneeling and praying as non-believers to me is phony. I don't think they are as sincere, as they are playing to the world stage.

I'm soooooo shaking my head in disgust over this one.....

on edit: grammar

11. Thanks Mollystark! I couldn't agree more!
Shrub is a SHAMELESS HYPOCRITE! Andy Card???? WTF?? Has Clinton been "adopted" by these evil, maniacal madmen, or what? The entire sordid spectacle has me beyond disgust, as well!

Peace.

BTW-How can someone even TRY to justify leaving a NOBEL PEACE PRIZE recipient behind?:banghead:

13. Pigdogs
Yes I am a little annoyed with Clinton too. I do think he is the light spot in that photograph though. Look at George Jr, he looks like the adults allowed him to tag along.

14. This disgusts me
Looking at the picture disgusts me further. President Carter ought to be there to represent our country.

It's painful to see the Bush* gang using the Pope's death and funeral as a photo op.

If Bush* sincerely wanted to attend along with his father and President Clinton, they should have included the other living president, President Carter. Condi, Card and even Laura should have stayed home, or at least in a hotel in Rome.

17. I mean, who gives a shit about Andrew Card? So wrong...The pope...
...is probably in Heaven (if you believe in that) saying "What the hell is wrong with him, the Chimpus Anti Christus?"

18. To me from that picture
Bush looks like he's trying to hard. He KNOWS a camera is on him. Condi and Card look bored (he's even looking at the camera instead of the Pope). Clinton is the only one who looks sincere. BushI is even smiling a little ().

19. MSNBC did a poll... at last count, 71% think
that Carter was snubbed. Here is a link to the story, which also includes a link to the poll:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7403576/

I am beyond pissed that Carter isn't among the delegates representing our Country. At least it would be nice to have an actual Christian there instead of these Pseudo ones.

21. Would the token American CATHOLIC in that group please stand?
I mean really! Do we have no leaders occupying positions of power who are actually practicing Catholics? One would think at least one American Catholic would have accompanied this group. Sheesh!

Of course it would not do to have either of them in the Presidential envoy.

22. It is the height of rude and crass behavior....
This snubbing of President Carter is nothing more than a juvenile little power play. There is absolutely no excuse for this.
