Is it better for DeLay to get shit-canned sooner rather than later? |
|
If it is sooner, then we are finally rid of him, it does help to make the Republican party look bad and it would be something to remember. THough it could be forgotten by people in a year and a half. If it is later, then the DeLay publicity gets protracted. It will stay front and center longer. However, there is the chance here that the media will disappear the story so it becomes forgotten.
I really don't know what to think.

3. The sooner to November 2006 the better for Democrats running for Congress |
|
But the longer he is in power, the more damage he can do and the bigger his already fat head can get. Hell, he already thinks he is above the law.

6. They won't get rid of him |
|
We need to call for his resignation. It clearly demonstrates that we're opposed to his corruption, and it forces the Republicans to defend him. We have to draw the connection between DeLay and House Republicans. We haven't done that yet.

The longer it takes, the more it stinks. Will make a more lasting impression that way.

8. I'm torn...he's starting to act so power-drunk whacked out |
|
that I'm beginning to think if the repukes turn on him as it appears they will that he might return the favor and metaphorically suicide-bomb them with some spilled secrets. Of course they've probably already thought of that and have plans to "disappear" him...

10. That's up to Mr. DeLay |
|
And I'll say this about my estimate of how long he hangs in there: He didn't fight, claw, back-bite, kick, scratch, and stab people in the back to get to where he is today just to hand it all back with a wry smile and say, "Oop, you caught me."
This cancer on the body politic will require a great deal of time and unrelenting effort to get him out of office. He's on shaky ground, his knees are wobbly, and his eyes are glazing over. Don't wait for the bell. Don't look to the referee to stop this. We need to keep pummeling him, even when our natural compassion would say "enough." This guy can't join the ranks of Bob Packwood and Wes Cooley too soon.

14. I think we should work to put as much pressure on him as possible |
|
all of the time BUT the decision will be his and the Republicans.
We can just try to find as much dirt as possible, apply as much heat and light as we can, along with trying to spread his foul stench to all of the rest of them.

13. Squirm Bugman! The longer he twists in the wind, the better for the Dems. |
|
And the harder it will be for voters to forget about how the rest of the Repugs in Congress voted him THEIR majority leader.

15. The key is depriving him of RNC purse strings |
|
because even if he's expelled from Congress, he'll be able to bully from without.
We'll have to hope that fighting multiple court battles keeps the Roach so occupied that the party will have to find a successor.
I sincerely hope that nobody in the Texas Mafia steps forward. I know Cromyn is angling for the job, but he's a relative neophyte, and I doubt he'd get the tap.
