There was no quorum today on the Judiciary Committee because several members were in Rome attending Pope's funeral. Most of the time, a quorum is one-half plus one. That would mean that the republicans could have a quorum without any democrats. Anyone know what the quorum size is for this committee?

All a committee does is recommend a bill, up or down. The senate majority leader can any bring a bill, regardless of committee action, to the floor without a hearing. Ref the schiavo bill.
