Do you find that a little bizarre?

3. Yes.
Maybe because he didn't have to do some actual work-you know, read briefings and so on. Or, maybe something shady happened behind the scenes with the American cardinals.

He babbles in a language that is phrases, 1/2 truths, and gibberish.

God help us all.

8. If he likes going to funerals so much,
he ought to go to some of the funerals he caused.

9. He does seem to like death a lot
but not the funerals of those he sent to their deaths. Maybe it was the death, or the novelty of actually attending a funeral. I find everything he says and does more than a little bizarre.

11. bizarre
is exactly the right word. I wondered why I heard, Rush Limbaugh's dissection every remark Clinton was making, today. He's trying to make Bill sound egotistical and self-serving...'it's all about me'...type of commentary. Deflecting the criticism of Bushes inability to articulate sensibly, on the spot. I wish Bill Clinton didn't have to hang around with them. Do you think it's some kind of a show of unity...to hide the split in the Country?

12. No, it's totally logical and it scares me
He admires the Pope's power, a world leader who cannot be removed from office, who answers to no one but God, who is infallible on
matters of religious dogma (which means he can't be challenged because he represents God's will). Someone who is traditionally isolated in splendor away from masses of obedient followers.
I was raised Catholic and although the Popes are usually men of the people who care deeply about the suffering of the world. George Bush does not have an ability to pity others. Remember he openly mocked a woman he condemned to die and sentenced more people to die in Texas than any governor. He sees the Papacy only for the power it holds.

13. Bizarre? Yes. He met the pope, I'd think that would rank higher
at a minimum than his funeral. Creepy yet very typical of the git in the White House.

vindictive, mean nature. Remember, we are talking about the son of Barbara here.

Keep in mind that the Pope opposed the war in Iraq forcefully and unequivocally. He called on the US for the use and abuse of the death penalty. Furthermore, the pope was so concerned about the war-mongering nature of Bush that he even studied the possibility that he may have been the "beast" of Revelations. I'm sure this may have made ol' Dubya mad as heck, with his trying to appear as a "holy crusader" to his American constituency.

I'm not surprised he says attending the pope's funeral is a highlight of his presidency. This is the same guy that mocked Karla Faye Tucker before he denied her stay of execution. I'm sure he is the type of guy that would spit on the pontiff's grave if given a chance. "You don't mess with the king."

16. I know about 1500 other fucking funerals he could have gone to
but of course those wouldn't have helped improve his sad-ass poll numbers. I can't wait 'til HIS funeral. Sorry if that offends someone.
