We should have an opponent for every Republican running.... |
|
We should make it our mission to find a Democrat in every Congressional district to run against the Republican incumbents. We should start tomorrow. Every single one of them should be challenged. If necessary, we should recruit DUers from each district to run, if no one else is willing to step forward, in my opinion. I'm certain we can find DUers in every Congressional district in America.

3. We should get busy, doing opposition research on every Republican running |
|
We should have dedicated opposition researches finding scandals, researching voting records for flip-flopping, parsing all public statements for inconsistencies or offensive statements.
We should have the attack ads written 12 months before the election, exposing the weakness, lies, and hypocrisy of every Republican candidate.
We should manage the release of damaging information, so there is some always out there, but there is a big zinger that comes out too close to the election to give their staff a chance to refute.

6. No, but we need to send a crack squad of young Dems to the Rove School of |

Political Campaigns and Electoral Success through character assassination.
We need to study the tactics of the enemy, barbaric though they may seem. There is no "elevating of the dialog". Kerry tried that, and as much as I admire Kerry, (and I really admire Kerry) I think that cost him the election. There, I said it. Of all the things said by all the pundits, I think taking the high road and not going for blood in an all out Bush-Bashing slam fest, cost us the election.
If Kerry had been running ruthless attack ads exposing every Bush scandal, laying bare the real policy agenda of Bush, really cutting loose, and going at a pace faster than the Spring 04 release of Bush Bashing Books (which was frantic), I think he could have won in a landslide, with Bush being forced out of the WH vilified and with a lower rating than Nixon on the honesty parameter.

We're not going to do so by playing patty-cake with these bastards. If they want dirty, we need to oblige them. Make these fucknuts defend themselves from outrageous lies and rumors.
"Mr. Republican, is it true that you've stopped molesting little boys?" "What?!?!?!" "Yes or no, Mr. Republican, the people want to know if you've managed to stop".
This is how it has to be.
