OMG Look what I found coming-up on Rove
Looking around for a possible new college to attend, I banged into this by pure accident. Got a grip on my dizzy-spell enough to post this FYI.

Un-fricked believeable. From the Washington College Press Release in Chestertown, Maryland. Here ya go Du'ers. If you can stomach it. No wonder I feel quezie. :puke:

Snip

Chestertown, MD, March 20, 2005 — Washington College’s Spring 2005 Richard Harwood Lecture in American Journalism presents Karl Rove, Deputy Chief of Staff and Senior Advisor to President George W. Bush, on “The Polarized Press: Media and Politics in the Age of Bush,” Monday, April 18, at 7:30 p.m. in Washington RoveCollege’s Tawes Theatre. The event is free and the public is invited to attend, but seating will be limited. Doors will open at 7 p.m.

As the person most credited with orchestrating President George Bush’s 2000 and 2004 election victories, Rove is praised by many as a masterful political strategist and demonized by just as many for the very same reason. He has been a conservative mover-and-shaker since his days as executive director of the College Republican National Committee in the early 1970s. Rove cut his teeth working on Republican campaigns in Texas as well as for George H. W. Bush’s vice presidential run in 1980 and for George W. Bush’s 1993 gubernatorial campaign. Prior to his recent posts as a Presidential Advisor and appointment as White House Deputy Chief of Staff, Rove served as president of Karl Rove & Company, an Austin, Texas-based public affairs firm. In addition, he has served as a member of the Board of International Broadcasting, which oversees operations of Radio Free Europe and Radio Liberty, and served on the board of the McDonald Observatory. Rove has taught at the LBJ School of Public Affairs and in the Journalism Department at the University of Texas at Austin.

Dont' know how much I can post, so it's in several parts.

1. The Rest of the story
Snip

Questions and answers will be moderated by John Harwood, The Wall Street Journal’s National Political Editor since 1997 and son of the late Richard Harwood of The Washington Post for whom this lecture series is named. An astute political observer whose perspectives and analysis appear in the WSJ’s column “Capital Journal,” Harwood also contributes regularly to PBS television’s political roundtable, Washington Week, and appears frequently on CNN, Fox, NBC, and other television news outlets for expert political analysis.

Washington College’s Harwood Lecture Series in American Journalism was established to honor the distinguished career of the late Washington Post columnist and ombudsman Richard Harwood, who served as a trustee and a lecturer in journalism at the College. Recent speakers in the series have included such political and media figures as Howard Dean, Robert Novak, John McCain, James Carville, Judy Woodruff, Al Hunt, Mark Shields, and Paul Gigot.

From same above link. I feel :puke: I had some dreams of attending this college. Now... well, all I can think of is the image of my dreams below. It's where they're at now.

:banghead: :hurts:

17. Summer Reading
If we have a summer to read through, I'll be reading that book about the Chimp's brain and how KKKRove built it. Or should I say, dismantled what was left of it.

The McCokespoon Anti-Christ!

I've been saying the same thing. Never, ever did you think in our lifetime. I mean, did you ever think you'd have these thoughts? Even the Pope had mentioned this.

24. i hear you!
Before the election I could laugh at some of the things that * said or did and the same with Karl, now it just turns my stomach. I literally can't stand to look at the whole lot of them.

But I wouldn't judge the whole school by this one program. When I attended UCLA in the early 80's we had a full range of people who came to speak on campus. On any given day you could have a progressive speaking at a program, a KKK rally going on outside the hall and a police unit protecting them from the black student union and the Jewish defense league. It was democracy in action.

During my four years there I saw everything from the annual gay students union's "fruit sale" (I kid you not, they sold apples, bananas, oranges etc) to the KKK speakers to evangelists that preached everyday. I wish every young adult could be exposed to that kind of atmosphere to see that it is possible to have huge differences of opinion and co-exist all the same.

But that was back in the day of State Cal-grants for poor kids like me with a Hispanic heritage. I was given free tuition and enough to cover some of my books plus a work study job all on the State of California. I am very grateful and sad that this is no longer a common occurrence.

Nice town. Quaint. If you knew this area, you'd never ever suspect it! Small village-like and this university it one, if not the oldest in our country.

Poor George Washington. Another fore-father flipping in their grave.

:bounce: Opphs, there it goes again. George Washington, Jefferson, you name it, flipping 'round and 'round in their old graves.
