10. Neither Kerry or his wife
Edited on Fri Jan-23-04 01:52 PM by Nicholas_J
Have anything to do with the Heinz Corporation. His wife only has say in the running of the Heinz Philanthrtopic Trust.

Kerry has never taken corporate money.

Though it is interesting that when Dean was the media darling, any statements that the media was pumping Dean up were said to be completely out of touch.

Kerry Seeks to Reverse FCC's "Wrongheaded Vote"
Commission decision may violate laws protecting small businesses; Kerry to file Resolution of Disapproval

Washington, DC - Senator John Kerry today announced plans to file a "Resolution of Disapproval" as a means to overturn today's decision by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to raise media ownership caps and loosen various media cross-ownership rules.

Kerry will soon introduce the resolution seeking to reverse this action under the Congressional Review Act and Small Business Regulatory Enforcement Fairness Act on the grounds that the decision may violate the laws intended to protect America's small businesses and allow them an opportunity to compete.

As Ranking Member of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, Kerry expressed concern that the FCC's decision will hurt localism, reduce diversity, and will allow media monopolies to flourish. This raises significant concerns about the potential negative impacts the decision will have on small businesses and their ability to compete in today's media marketplace.

In a statement released earlier today regarding the FCC's decision, Kerry said:
"Nothing is more important in a democracy than public access to debates and information, which lift up our discourse and give Americans an opportunity to make honest informed choices. Today's wrongheaded vote by the Republican members of the FCC to loosen media ownership rules shows a dangerous indifference to the consolidation of power in the hands of a few large entities rather than promoting diversity and independence at the local level. The FCC should do more than rubber stamp the business plans of narrow economic interests.

"Today's vote is a complete dereliction of duty. The Commissioners are well aware that these rules greatly influence the competitive structure of the industry and protect the public's access to multiple sources of information and media. It is the Commission's responsibility to ensure that the rules serve our national goals of diversity, competition, and localism in media. With today's vote, they shirked that responsibility and have dismissed any serious discussion about the impact of media consolidation on our own democracy."

5. TIME was founded by Henry Luce, a Skull & Bones member
TIME-Warner has been a big contributor to Kerry, not only in money but more importantly in providing a fellow Bonesman with a friendly media platform.

Only Video of a Skull and Bones Ritual

Yale's most notorious secret society, Skull and Bones, counts among its members both Presidents Bush, President Taft, William F. Buckley, Henry Luce, Senator John Kerry, and other such types. Literary journalist Ron Rosenbaum—who has been one of the most dogged investigators of the S&B—led a team who secretly filmed one of the shadowy club's initiation ceremonies on 14 April 2001. Not only is this the first and only footage of an S&B ritual, it's also the first one ever to be witnessed by outsiders.

Besides his ranking in contributions, yesterday it was said that his brother is a major Media lobbyist. I think it would be very useful to know what is going on. NOTHING is a bigger obstacle to democracy than the state of our media. It would be very disappointing to see someone supported without the relevant facts being made public. Happens all the time though, thanks to our media.

8. Kerry's brother's COWORKERS donated over an 18 year period
less money than ONE pioneer of Bush's in one election cycle.

His brother's firm represented a client in the telecom business and they are trying to link Kerry's donations to his vote on the telecom bill which benefitted many in Boston's tech corridor.

Does anyoone seriously believe that Kerry's brother and his coworkers would NOT have donated over an 18 yr. period if Kerry hadn't voted favorably for that legislation in 1996? That's what smearers want you to believe.

Please point out the quid pro quo.

9. what business? What firm?
Wouldnt it be easier to judge if we knew some names?
I am not pretending to know anything, but I am concerned.
I really do like seeing the few principalled names who voted against the Telecommunications Act. That tells a story right there.
