4. Negreponte wrote the reports and made sure there was nothing
....in the official record that could incriminate him, but his policies and off-the-record actions and influence over others who put his directives into action carried out egregious crimes against humanity. His role in the intelligence community will be 100 times more dangerous because he will have virtually all intelligence to manipulate and modify without any accountability to anyone.

6. According to Sen Rockefeller
Negroponte may be approved unanimously...maybe 1 vote against.

I was sort of shocked, but Rockefeller thinks he's great.

8. Disappointed in Rockefeller
I listened to part of the hearings this AM on Democracy Now. Rockefeller had one question regarding the Contra days with Negroponte which Negroponte danced around by saying everything he did was legal at the time. "thanks you" was the only followup from Rockefeller. I really haven't heard enough to know if others have pressed the issues related to Negroponte and the CIA/Contra and maybe the dems don't know what to ask. I just heard this AM that the NY Times has an entire file of Negroponte's from that time period through the FOIA that may have enough detail to turn on some lights. It being just made available this AM there may not be enough time for research for anyone to mount an aggressive series of well supported questions. I don't understand how this kind of detail can remain hidden (classified) then suddenly be brought out in the open the 2nd day of his confirmation hearings. If this guy is guilty of anything law enforcement ought to be after him at least as soon as anything becomes declassified. If not law enforcement, then the press.

Meanwhile, Oliver North still tours the country speaking like hes a war hero instead of a crook and Negroponte will almost certainly be confirmed...to name a few.
