It's time to play: "What the f*ck is wrong with this sentence?"
From that liberal-media bastion the Houston Chronicle:

WASHINGTON - House Majority Leader Tom DeLay asked Senate Republicans on Tuesday to be patient while he defends himself against a Democratic campaign to unseat him and news reports about his ethics.

:wtf:

This is NOT an editorial, it's supposedly 'straight news'. So who's reading the DeLay playbook ("Blame the Democrats")

Headline:
DeLay wants 'chance to defend himself'
Majority leader asks Republicans in Senate for time
By GEBE MARTINEZ

I say let's write to Mr. Martinez, his editor and their bosses and call them on this bullshit.

3. It should say something like:
...while he defends himself against what he believes to be a Democratic campaign...

Very, very sloppy writing AND editing.

11. "what he claims to be", surely.
Not "what he believes to be".

14. With these people
they like to change the reality of what really is to fit themselves. With DeLay all he has to do is say a couple times in interviews it's the democrats when in reality the democrats have NO POWER!

4. The main problem is the assertion that tom delay HAS ethics which
can be reported on. Oh, and the Democratic campaign crap.

5. Another matter for the editor: ethics should be in quotes.

Good one, fob.

WASHINGTON - House Majority Leader Tom DeLay asked Senate Republicans on Tuesday to be patient while he defends himself against what he believes is a Democratic campaign to unseat him and news reports about his "ethics".

6. Well aside from the obvious delusional rantings of Delay
and you know he thinks he like Christ being nailed to the cross, but really i think he's trying to raise money for his legal defense fund.

9. Since DeLay's accusation is
noted in the third graf...

DeLay said his political troubles are part of a Democratic assault on the Republican agenda, senators said.

...it would've been more efficient to just spike "Democratic" from the lede.

10. Either that or at least put it in quotes
So they would be using his words just to cover their ass. I remember that everyone seemed to do that with the "vast right-wing conspiracy".

12. Can't quote him
It was a closed session. Reporters can't quote what they didn't hear.

I wasn't aware of where this was said.
