Barney Frank cleaned Roy Blount's clock on Russert
Edited on Sun Apr-17-05 09:45 AM by burythehatchet
The subject was bugman and Barney Frank delivered several body blows to Blount. Delay is toast. Even Russert was hanging his head low, looking down at his notes, because he knows Delay is toast.

Barney Frank is one of our finest spokesmen. He actually put out the idea that Delay needs to hang around for a while because this is about the corruption of public policy by the Republicans, not just about one bugman's ethics.

edit for spelling

3. Barney Frank was like a pitbull. He was brilliant.
He refused to let Blount interrupt and go off-topic. He clearly explained the Democrat's position regarding the ethics committee rules changes as well as the larger issue of the corruption of public policy by the Republicans.

BTW, did you see the screen shot of the DCCC Delay House of Scandal website?
Russert didn't give the web address. Frank asked "Aren't you going to give out the address?" Russert ignored him.

Did you notice that Blount and Lott have the same hair?

11. I was torn between looking at the helmet hair and the eyebrows.
Edited on Sun Apr-17-05 09:59 AM by CottonBear
Either his eyebrows are like that naturally or (more likely) he's a had browlift or facelift.

The hair is what fascinates me. It's like plastic Ken doll hair. It doesn't move at all. A huge amount of hairspray is needed to achieve that look.

8. Drier kept trying to change the subject
and at one point said something about distancing himself from Delay's tactics and both Rangel and it sounded like the host both said
"No you didn't !"

Sheaffer also read Delay's quote from NRA convention about being glad his friends were 'armed' ... heh heh.

7. Dang. I missed that. I love Rangel.
I think that Frank and Rangel are both excellent spokesmen for the Democrats.
They are not policy wonks or perceived as too blue blooded and wealthy (like Kerry.) They are plain spoken everymen that the general public can relate to.

26. you know what would be a hoot?
a frank and rangel ticket, OR a rangel and frank ticket.

either way, all the repubs heads would explode and at least ONE of them would have the gall of using the "queer and nigger" line, showing just how hateful they are.

it would be so funny.

17. It is a thing of beauty to watch Frank clean their clocks!
I say keep 'em coming. Frank should be on TV every week (wait a minute, he usually is!) He speaks the truth and cuts through the bullshit spewed by the hosts and the Republican guests.

29. cynical I know, but
likely because even morans know Barney is gay, and at the end of a debate, after Barney has eaten their lunch, they can always figuratively turn to the camera with that Nathan Thurm look and say, "well, he's gay so..." and their idiot base will dismiss what they just heard. I know that's an awfully cynical view, but it explains why guys that NEVER like losing are willing to go up against Frank, knowing he'll have his ducks in a row.

22. It bugged me (no pun intended)
That Tim wasn't jumping in with all of his usual graphics to show the hypocrisy of the Republicans changing the rules. It showed just how biased Tim is, but Barney Frank did a pretty good job by himself.

27. Elonar Rosevelt, 1956--says many who not have "the good life"-was
asked what separated the Dems from Reps at that time (lots more of course). Said it is the idea of thinking other things, thinking big. Well, she was referring to SS and other social programs at the time. (not think big-as in wars).

30. He was being groomed to be Speaker of the House
until he came out. Frank has probably risen as far as he can politically. He is about Kerry's age, actually he might be older than Kerry, and thus is unlikely to have a shot at Senate and he has no desire to run for Governor. I think that helps him alot when it comes to these shows. He also is impeccably prepared and smart as all get out. I hope we get the House back while Frank is in it and he gets to be a powerful chair, Rangel would be the most powerful chair if we were in charge.
