Matthew Simmons is an energy banker and served on the Cheney energy panel in 2001. He is as well connected as they come.

That is a Neo-Con related discussion.

Simmons is saying that Peak Oil is real and we need to do something now.

This is an issue tailor made for the environmental movement but seems to be neglected.
