I may just have to invest in cable (not a big tv fan) but what cable channel is the Jon Stewart Show?
That was great!

I love how she can make the shit people do really show them for who they are (morons). This was one of the bests. Next to the "undecided voters" skit.

... why is it that the only place you see anything like serious commentary is on a fake news show?
We at DU knew about this "town meeting" bullshit, but the MSM has largely ignored it.
That was a rhetorical question... I know the answer.

It's the only thing real on teevee these days.
And the only show I'll REALLY miss now that I cancelled my Comcast cable.
Thank God for the Daily Show. It lets us all know we're NOT nuts.

34. Because it's a more effective means of distributing information. |
|
I'll probably post further on this later, but I think that satirical "fake news" has the same effect as the sensationalist or slanted news that we see on Fox in terms of its ability to get people to watch and retain the information given.

20. It was great--and Jon had me laughing out loud |
|
when interviewing the author of the book on Presidents. It will lose something with the lack of visual here, but he said "I always imagined that when they were in the third grade, John Kerry and Al Gore probably had a My Little President kit. But I see * as waking up when he was around 40 (rubbing his eyes and then opening them wide) and saying, "Huh? What's going on...I guess I want to be President."

Luntz was shown for exactly what he is, a slimebag manipulator! I am astounded he participated in this but, given his arrogance, I guess I should know better.

it boggles the mind that he would put his slimy spinmeister ass in front of the camera anywhere but fox.
he probably thought he could outsmart the daily show. he was wrong. he looked like dirt. and he made his president look like dirt.

35. His belief in his 'abilities' and his arrogance |
|
that, "he probably thought he could outsmart the daily show" as you stated had to be the reason. He acted like other shills and mistakenly believed he was 'omnipotent' in his skills. I suspect he is badly disillusioned on that score if he watched the show afterward, lol.

Frank Lutz-the anti-Christ. NEVER has anyone made me so mad on TV than this guy did last year on NOW on PBS.
He doesn't get that yes many of us are smarter than he is and can see that it's all a giantic CON JOB also know as propaganda.
What he thought it was "hip" to be on the Daily Show?
Not when you are the epitome of everything they mock, you assclown!

36. I loved the "auditioning" process ... |
|
And having an actual casting person there, looking through headshots, was brilliant.
BTW, I had forgotten how funny Robert Reich can be -- being somewhat similar in the height department, I've stolen a number of his "cheap visual gags" in the past.

I'm going to miss the Daily Show, I just today cancelled my basic service with my satellite provider. Now, all I have is TV5(french) and Free Speech TV.
I decided after the coverage of the Democratic Convention that I am not willing to pay AOL Time Warner, and any package that includes CNN is unacceptable to me if I have to pay for it, and my contract has finally expired.
