Has Minority Leader Reid surprised you?

1. He has been awesome.....

Honestly I was worried but have been totally pleasantly surprised. I read the statements he's released and just want to throw my fist in the air. I may not always agree with certain individual positions (allowing bankruptcy bill out of committee) but I don't for one second question his role as a fighter.

he is not a great minority leader. He may seem great because Frist is lousy, but he does not seem to be able to keep his caucus together.

3. He's shown a helluva lot more fight than pink tutu Daschle

Watching Tom Daschle take a stand was pathetic.

8. Daschle seemed a fine man

who doesn't deserve the pink tutu or the trouncing he got at the hands of Gannon, who targetted the hell out of him.

That said, he was too gentle I think, too good a man to face down the oppostion. Reid is more of a bulldog. That is good.

4. I didn't "know" he'd be a great leader

But having seen him on Cspan fairly often, I thought he might be. He is unfailingly polite, seemingly diffident and tough as nails. The Bushies fucked up when they ousted Daschle.

eager to compromise. So fr, he's been a delight!
