Rawstory has Repug. talking points on Ethics Committee rules retreat

/snip/

"Even before the measure was taken to the full Rules Committee in the House—or the full House—Republicans were circulating talking points seeking to portray the reversal on ethics rules as Democratic foul play, RAW STORY has learned."

What strikes me is how clumsy these talking points are, without the usual punch and succinctness. Kind of a long-winded, "Sure, we'll go back to the old rules, but those rules were stupid, and you're stupid to ask us to go back to them, so we'll go along with your stupid idea because we're...uh...more concerned about fairness! Yeah, fairness, that's the ticket!"

Sheesh.

Thanks again to Rawstory.

5. The Acme of Cynicism and Hypocricy
To plan out "spin points' on the subject of ethics. WTF? Is this the Bill Bennett School of Republican Morality? Aristotle and Socrates are rolling in their graves. Me, I'm blowing chunks, as usual.

6. Funny how those rules worked well for the GOP in the 90s but not now...
so they had to change them. Just going back to what they used against Democrats before.

What's good for the goose....

7. You'd think they'd learn a lesson about printed talking points handed

around from what happened to Martinez's. What a bunch of terminally stupid, corrupt stuffed shirts. It's so distressing that more of the public doesn't see right through them and their self-promoting schemes. Not only do printed talking points raise the risk of opposition people or the press getting them -- duh! -- but it looks for all the world like they're so stupid they can't remember what to say and they have to have cheat-sheets like someone cheating on a grade-school exam.

And good for Raw Story! While I was very unhappy with the report last Tuesday night about "Gannon" on Keith Olbermann's show, at least he did properly cite Raw Story as the source. Here's another big story that the major media passed by.

Thanks bleever.

11. I don't think
they ever learn from their mistakes. They keep making them over and over getting caught like this. Good grief. They're getting sloopy.
