How many of you look forward to these Bush news conferences? |
|
My gut feeling tells me that he is really going to make an ass of himself tonight.
Remember the one press conference where he said, "I wish you'd have given me this written question ahead of time so I could plan for it…I'm sure something will pop into my head here in the midst of this press conference, with all the pressure of trying to come up with answer, but it hadn't yet….I don't want to sound like I have made no mistakes. I'm confident I have. I just haven't — you just put me under the spot here, and maybe I'm not as quick on my feet as I should be in coming up with one." —President George W. Bush, after being asked to name the biggest mistake he had made
or..
"We want to reduce greenhouse gases. Ours is a large economy. We used to generate more wealth than we are today. And as a result, we do contribute greenhouse gases to the atmosphere." -- Press conference with Tony Blair, London, July 19, 2001
"Border relations between Canada and Mexico have never been better." -- Dubya apparently forgetting about the country wedged between Canada and Mexico. Press conference with Canadian PM, Sept. 24, 2001
"It would be helpful if we opened up ANWR (Arctic National Wildlife Refuge). I think it's a mistake not to. And I would urge you all to travel up there and take a look at it, and you can make the determination as to how beautiful that country is."—Press conference, Washington, D.C., March 29, 2001
I'm expecting to hear at least five quotes like this tonight.
Can't wait...

I can't watch him. He ruins my dinner. I know I can catch up with the details of what he said later.

I have always believed that I needed to watch the "other" side in order to form sound opinions and beliefs ...
I can not watch that imbecile, I feel embarrassed for myself and my country-------I am not joking

2. Could care less, the man is a liar and a terrible communicator.... |
|
...so listening to him live would be a total waste of my time. I'll wait for the reports on what he says.

It won't be a question and answers forum with reporters. It will be an I provide the questions and the answers "Town Hall" style. Or I talk you listen and then we all go home and you don't ask me any questions. Any reporter who does won't be attending the next town hall press conference.

6. Actually I do look forward to them-----'cause it means he is in trouble. |

Georgie the Arrogant/Georgie the Dumb postively hates press conferences because he has to think, speak, lie all at the same time. He can't even chew gum and wipe his ass at the same time (gets the ends confused). So this "prime time" event is proof positive that he and the Republicans are falling into the sewer and that the Repukes need him to bolster up support or they are going to have to think about distancing themselves from him and the wackos as midterms loom in the future. Georgie created the oil monster and now he can't believe that it's destroying him and his Greedy Oil Partners (GOP).

I cannot watch the smirking, murder monkey without completely losing my temper. He has no business being in the White House and I'll be damned if I'll listen to anything he has to say. He is not my President.

Usually there's a running thread, and I will check that out...It's MUCH less painful than watching the chimp 'speak'

10. I'm flip flopping on the issue |

Upgrade: the fodder for Jon Stewart will be amazing. . .can't wait for Monday's Daily Show.
Downgrade: pre-empting Survivor, Apprentice, CSI, and the OC. . .doesn't anyone in the administration pay attention to television? Hmmm I think only if naked women are on (you notice they aren't pre-empting the L word).
Upgrade: I'm on the west coast so my prime time on CBS won't be interrupted.
Downgrade: His smarmy attitude, "trust me" cowboy act and general appearance make me ill. Dinner just won't be as good tonight
Upgrade: Hey I need to diet anyway!

So, I'll be able to watch Survivor. However, a 5:30 news conferences is bound to ruin the 6:00 CBS news. And what will I watch at 5:30? I always get the snakes out then to watch the local news. They can sense when I'm agitated.

I usually put the mute on if he even appears for a short clip on Newshour. But I'm getting really curious about the deterioration of the chimp. I want to see it for myself, live.

14. I'm torn. I love to watch the chimp screw up |
|
yet the sight of him literally weakens my stomach and sends all kinds of anger hormones rushing throughout my body. I will most likely watch, bitching the whole time.
