Fla. Court Refuses to Hear Limbaugh Appeal on medical records

Looks like the records will be unsealed and we will find out more about what Rush REALLY thinks about drug use.

Fla. Court Refuses to Hear Limbaugh Appeal

By JILL BARTON, Associated Press Writer
Thursday, April 28, 2005

(04-28) 11:31 PDT West Palm Beach, Fla. (AP) --

The Florida Supreme Court on Thursday declined to consider an appeal from commentator Rush Limbaugh claiming his privacy was violated when his medical records were seized for an investigation of whether he illegally purchased painkillers.

The 4-3 order did not explain the court's reasoning.

Limbaugh's attorney had also objected to the use of search warrants to obtain the medical records in 2003. The documents have remain sealed, pending the outcome of Limbaugh's appeals.

A prosecution spokesman declined to say when his office might begin reviewing the record

Edited to add: Atrios gives this helpful link to earlier posts at his site, so you can wander down Memory Lane and ponder Rush's earlier pronouncements on drug users and what should be done to them:

3. I frankly do not think they should have anyones records.
But this is sort of funny as that side always think it is fine if they see mine.

5. I agree - medical records should remain sealed. But this is so poetic
I am temporarily setting aside my outrage on privacy invasion, just long enough to savor the irony a little while and share it with you all.

Remember the irony of the ACLU supporting Rush's quest for record privacy when he had lambasted them for so long. Strange bedfellows.

6. I Say... Sick The Dogs On Him!!!
Hey, the Repukes don't care who, what or how THEY break the rules, so why shouldn't we stick it to him!!!

Having said that, I only want the rule to apply to him. There is the possibility with his mouth that he'll be hollering to The Idiot to Change The Consitution or something!!
