Geez, I wish the Brits would throw Blair out on his ass. |
|
Blair should be made to pay for conspiring with Bushco. I'd love to see the reason be that he lied like his American courterpart.

1. No way that will happen. Even Blair is better than the Conservatives |

6. VERY slim chance, they give him a safe district |
|
But I hope that guy who is running because his son was killed in the war gives Blair a run for his money.

2. I wish it would happen too, but it won't. There is nobody in the labour |
|
party close enough to touch him. Partly the party's fault and partly the British population's unwillingness to learn for themselves.

7. Gordon Brown's name is being thrown around as a replacement |
|
They also mentioned that there is supposed to be a leadership battle within the Labour party as a replacement. Like most here, I'd like to see a Labour victory and then Blair getting the boot after the election.

5. I realize you don't like Blair, but why do you want the Conservatives? |
|
Bad enough the US has to put up with the Conservatives ruling everything, why do you want them to be in control in the UK too?

8. In Britain its a vote for the party not the |
|
leader necessarily. Obviously if you vote Labour you get its leader but people will still be voting for Labour MP's as many were anti-war
A vote for the Tories would be worse cos almost all were anti-war. They are the only reason he got enough votes to get it through parliament

9. I think the ideal would be a minority government with |
|
Labour as government and the Lib Dems holding the balance of power. It would do two things, imo: First, Blair would be turfed by Labour shortly after the election for causing a massive loss of seats and second; the Lib Dems would cause Labour to move left instead of right as Blair has caused them to do.
There would be an added bonus, imo, and that would be that the Lib Dems would have a higher profile with the UK public and would be seen as a credible alternative in the next election.
