Blair had to stand there and listen to the father of man killed in Iraq. |
|
Did anyone else see that on CSPAN? The father of a policeman killed in Iraq was running against Blair and he got 10% of the vote. He got to make a speech with Blair and his wife standing right behind the guy.
It was a beautiful thing to see the leader of a country taken to task and unable to respond or walk out.

1. I saw it and I thought Blair was going to melt thru the fucking floor |
|
It was awe inspiring to see a democracy in action where leaders have to accept the consequences of their behavior and not hide behind hand picked 'audiences' like smirk does.

3. OMG! Could you imagine if ordinary citizens could actually |
|
speak to the "boy king"??
At least maybe then he would have some idea of the mess he has created at home and abroad.

6. I thought that it looked like Blair was going to cry! |
|
Oh but what I wouldn't give for us in this country to be able to confront our "leaders" like that!

2. What you may not have seen on CSPAN was Blair back in the Labour club |
|
where he looked just as smug as he usually is. Good actor that he is, he knew he had to look sombre with the dead military policeman's father at the vote count.

5. And his wife was wearing a hat that siad bLIAR..... |
|
....in big letters. She was standing next to Blair. Imagine what would have happened in the same situation here. She would have been dragged out by Bush's SS and beaten up.

Cheesh, I must be blind. But I was thinking the exact same thing. If that was done here, Bush** would have walked out and that poor man would have been hauled off and arrested for free-speeching in a no-free-speech zone. (Which I hear is about a mile around wherever Bush** is...and I think qualifies him as a black hole. He has certainly sucked the light out of our democracy.)
