LMAO every time the RWers start "getting concerned" about Voinovich
because he is just going to kiss W's ass.

Beating a dead horse, here's why I believe that Voinovich is just doing some posturing.

During Clinton's two terms (and while Voinovich was the Governor of Ohio), Clinton came to Cleveland. George Voinovich, I guess, was unaware that Clinton would be in town. Voin had to "hurry" to get from Cleveland to Columbus (why was he in Cleveland to begin with?), and couldn't take the two hours to drive from Cleveland to Columbus. As per normal FAA regulations, Cleveland Hopkins airport was off-limits to takeoffs, landings, and probably flynears. However, Voin forced a pilot to take off and fly to Columbus (how long does it take to get through an airport, both ends of the journey?). This broke federal regulations and nearly cost the pilot his license. After that, Voinovich was fined for the actions. THEN HE TRIED TO FORCE THE TAXPAYERS TO PAY HIS FINE. He quietly withdrew that.

So, not long ago, Voinovich "protested" the tax package of George W. Bush, joining with Olympia Snowe. As he put it, he opposed the amount, and voted against it. But, he said, he would vote for whatever "compromise" W would put up. The compromise by Bush was "no compromise - take it or leave it". Voinovich voted for the exact same package that he earlier was protesting. (Flip-flop? - no backbone there.)

It's comical to think of Voinovich as a "savior" (which the media seems to be trying to claim we think of him as). It's barely comical to think that he would even have the balls to consider breaking away from the cash cow teat that the Republican Right seems to be clamped to.

1. Also, when he was Governor
There was a prison building explosion (growth, not the prison), and guess who had the contract to build all these prisons? A company called "The V Group", owned by Paul Voinovich, Georges brother.
