3. So when Wolf Blitzer said yesterday that...
..Bush** "...could do what former President Bill Clinton used to do and make recess appointments", he was in error in intimating a certain frequency of the activity?

5. According to C-SPAN, he made 56
I found this via c-span.org:

President Clinton has now made 56 recess appointments in his 6 ½ years, the last being James Hormel as Ambassador to Luxembourg on June 4, 1999. President Bush made 77 recess appointments during his 4 year tenure, and in 8 years as President, Ronald Reagan made 243 such appointments. President Carter made 68 recess appointments over 4 years in office.

So he did use them but a lot less often than his predecessors.

6. I didn't think Clinton made ANY judicial recess appointments
Recess appointments yes but not for judges.

I could be wrong but I remember that being mentioned when Pryor was appointed.
