Once you get to 40%, you're talking about the real Kool-Aid drinkers here who would defend Bush if he strangled a live puppy on television.

|
theocratic, apocalyptic thugs who think that Bush has to be defended no matter what a crap president they all know him to be. They'll lie about him, for the good of the country.
If Alan Keyes can get 27% of the vote in the Illinois senate race, there are at least 33% who'll back Bush no matter how badly he does.

16. Inland, I totally agree. The core is not that large, relatively. |
|
I remember seeing a poll on the support for the odious Sen. Joseph McCarthy a few years after he was exposed as a lune. He had about 25-27% of the public still behind him. I think it's always been that way, that nasty core group is just activated lately.
How did you infer the 33%? Figure that 6% of the population is of the wingnut true believer category but will not join the other 27% of their co-religionists because they're just so bigoted they could never vote for Keyes?

22. No, I figured it this way: |
|
Illinois is a blue state, so I bumped it up.
And about a third always wanted Clinton impeached, and about a third will tell you he killed Vince Foster--in other words, a third will say something they know is a lie if it serves a political purpose.
That's Bush's base. The people who will never admit Bush sucks, even as they know it to be true.

Its a clear indicator or just how far to the right America has shifted since 1968.

look good for Rove's Spin Machine. This is his second low and given that the media is in "blackout" and the propaganda assault is in warp speed...gotta say that they are going to take this badly...and will start to bring out the tanks and the vaporizors. After all...they don't know any better.
We will probably be into Iran or Syria within two months if not sooner. Because, they think WAR will be the only way to get the Murkin's to see the "Emperor" as the hero he is for bringing Democracy to the world. They are DESPERATE! And EVIL!

That was all they had. Nobody could really defend Bush's record with a straight face. So as soon as it isn't Bush vs. the homo war criminal liberal gigilo, and it's just Bush, he tanks. Simple as that.

Read of a Democratic pollster who said that 42% was about as low as Bush could probably go.
If Nixon had 25% approval in July 1974 -- just before he resigned -- that ought to tell you something..... Namely, that we ought to help him lose another 18 points.
Personally, I think the Downing Street memo MIGHT be just the thing.

26. LOL! How much you wanna bet Rethug Hack Pollster Rasmussen.. |
|
..has different numbers? When does he come out with his bogus poll anyway?
Scott Rasmussen makes me sick! :puke: I know there's one person on here that defends him to the bitter end, but KOS and other sites have explained him in detail (why he'll occassionally show Bush down, but why he won't ever keep it down longer than a certain amount of days).. and he lies like a dog.
It's good to see that Pew and other polling agencies are reporting the correct data! :)

30. Notice that the 50% disapproval is the highest ever |
|
for this poll.
IMHO, the Pew group tends toward the religiously conservative and gives * higher numbers than other polls. So I wonder what the REAL numbers are?
And when does the disaffection motivate people to take ACTION to change things politically?
