Senate repugs using a form of filibuster in Senate right now to |
|
delay any real business of the country. It just hit me, that is exactly what is going on. Chimpy, Rove and the repugs have hauled out the "crisis" of the judiciary to prevent them from having to address any of the actual problems of the country.
Healthcare? No, of course not, not until we have the crisis of judges under control.
Deficit? Surely you jest, we need to save this country from the horrors of "activist" judges first before tackling that "minor" little deal.
War? What war? We have Senators in Congress ignoring the will of the people in the last election. If we can't re-write Senate rules for something as important as the filibuster who cares how many soldiers have died this week? Or how much it cost? Or how many more terrorists are signing up for duty? Or how many lies were told to get us into a war to begin with? Anyone worrying about the war just doesn't understand the real problems.
Environment? What's a little greenhouse effect, climate changes, clean air, healthy skies, a couple of doses of mercury for our children when we have judges being stalled by Senate rules?
Taxes? Well, actually we don't need to worry about taxes, we already have managed to take care of our rich friends.
This long, protracted "crisis" is saving the repugs who are up for re-election next year. As long as nothing is being done there is nothing that can be used against them by their opponents.
New battle cry - Stop the Republican filibuster of Senate business by creating fake crisis. Demand the people's work be done.

1. No matter-- I feel better when they do nothing |
|
At least they can't destroy when they do nothing. When was the last time anything was passed that helped anyone or anything.

2. This push for SS privatization is also a form of filibuster |
|
where it ties up politicians/media into only talking and planning strategy on their stances on SS, while it hides things such as RealID and Bankruptcy and pork filled energy, military, budget and transportation bills.

The last thing I want is that congress full of neo-con idiots trying to address the problems we face. Grid lock is preferable to allowing them to make 'progress'.

Of course these senate Jackasses are listening to the people. The "People" don't give a damn about the deficit, filibusters, or senselessly mauling other humans. They care about their party controlling as much of the federal government as possible, fighting the flagburners, and stopping those dreaded terrorists.
