He will be vilified by the Reicht over his treasonous act.
I think Voinovich has had an Epiphany.

3. I think his family was threatened by the BFEE |
|
He teared up when he mentioned what this "would do to his children and grandchildren."
Of course, being from Ohio, maybe he saw evidence of Bolton's complicity in election fraud.

6. That's okay, he can have Zell's spot |
|
God knows Zell's not using it.
But it actually means more to me that he's normally a fairly straight Conservative with a concience as opposed to someone who is known as a maverick or a centrist. It makes what he has to same somehow more powerful, the fact that he's willing to break way like this.

7. Better question: will they take him out in next year's primary? |
|
You'd think they'd be looking for a henchman to stand against him.

8. Voinovich Began His Political Life As A Democrat |
|
I know - he represented my family as a city councilman in the 1970s in Cleveland. My impression was that he switched parties in order to run as a Republican, but between the drift to the religious right, the apparent about-to-explode scandal involving rare coins and pensions in the state of Ohio (which are ALL involving Republicans, including our buddy Blackman), and the likelihood he is unlikely to run again, it could happen.
Then again, I'm not as magnanimous about him. What he SHOULD have done is voted no on Bolton in committee and kill him outright. Then maybe he wouldn't have had anything to cry about.
