"Liberal Media Put Troops at Risk
Editor, Times-Dispatch: What a shame the liberal media hate this country so much that they will say anything to destroy our attempt to bring freedom to other parts of the world.

And while they are at it, they put in danger the lives of our soldiers who are fighting so Newsweek can tell its lies. G.A. Pelfrey. colonial heights."

1. OF course, didn't you know, if it wasn't for Newsweek, the insurgents
would have put their guns down and gone home ages ago.

2. Yeah.. he's a dimwit.. but it's only a letter to the editor...
Boy! :o You should read some of the ludicrous, lame, and total dipshit letters we get into our paper (Anchorage Daily News) every day..

Although, for everyone of them written, if they're out of bounds at all like that "Coloniel Heights resident", they'll get blasted by several people within days. Someone here ALWAYS responds back to people like G.A. Pelfrey here!

In just the past couple of days, here's some letters in our fish wrap, Anchorage Daily News----------------------- (hope they make up for G.A. Pelfrey! ;) )

---------------------------
"Give me Newsweek over Bush"

"By the outrage pointed at Newsweek from the White House these days, you'd think they were experts on fact checking. Heck, when it comes to getting their facts straight, I'll take Newsweek over the White House any day!"

---- Ward Testa
Anchorage
----------------------------
"President Bush is the most hated man in the world for good reason

The May 18 letter by Maya Grant is absolutely correct ("Memo shows President Bush fixed facts to suit his desire for war"). President Bush's "fixing" of the intelligence to implement his culture of death in Iraq is the mother of all lies. Member of British Parliament George Galloway was correct, "And 100,000 people have paid with their lives -- 1,600 of them American soldiers sent to their deaths on a pack of lies."

President George W. Bush, is the most hated man in the world. Impeach Bush now."

---- Shelley W. Nagel
Anchorage
------------------------------

"Reading Downing Street Memo makes this Republican feel shame

I read the Downing Street Memo and it makes me ashamed to call myself a Republican. The immorality and deceit as evidenced by the memo are reminiscent of Richard Nixon. "Tricky Dick" had to resign the presidency because he lied to the American people about his knowledge of a bungled burglary, knowledge which he acquired after the fact. How does that compare with George Bush's lying to us before the fact about the need to commit a bungled burglary of a country? At least the outcomes should be the same."

---- Art Timm
Anchorage
---------------------------
"Murkowski seeing cost of election

Aw. Poor Lisa. The bad ole' fundies are picking on her. Earth to Lisa: You got in bed with the devil and sold your soul to win an election. You are getting what you deserve. Hope this is your last term.+

---- Randall J. Montbriand
Anchorage
----------------------------
"You voted for Bush, so quit whining about photos of Iraq war casualties

This is in response to the recent spate of letters chastising the Daily News for printing photographs of casualties in Iraq and around the world. To the Daily News, thank you. Perhaps if the mass media show us more of the pain and suffering caused by this reprehensible, unnecessary war, we won't allow those warmongering corporate peons known as politicians to lie to us again, but I sincerely doubt it.

To the people who find these pictures upsetting and disturbing, tough. You wanted this war. You bought and paid for it. You put that megalomaniac in office twice and therefore you are an accomplice in his crimes. You have blood on your hands that will never wash away, and you deserve to have your noses rubbed in it. Those of you who believe in some sort of judgment, in some sort of afterlife, ask yourselves this: How many mass murderers get into heaven?"

---- Isaac Treat
Ninilchik
----------------------
These are only a =FEW= letters within the past 2 days.. As many know, we have an R-Governor who "had" an approval rating of 27% at the start of May (2nd worst in the nation).. :o trust me.. by the letters about him in the paper lately, he can only dream of the day he'll be back up to 27% !!!
