If Bush's numbers drop to say 80% against him and 20% for him, what would
would happen. He has over three years to go, and his numbers are in the toilet. (Pretend - at least for right now)

SERIOUSLY, what would happen. Do we have any precedence to go on. I know Nixon's numbers got low, but he was in the process of being forced to resign/impeached.

Right this minute, George the Lesser is not on trial for anything. But his numbers are only 20% of the whole nation approves of him..
What happens - if anything?

I like to daydream. :)

1. Another "terrorist" attack in the US.
At this point, it's a no brainer.

:scared:

2. Oh crud! Believe it or not I hadn't thought of that. I was thinking more
along the lines of the Republicans might ask him to leave or something along that line.

Unfortunatly, you are probably right. :(

6. The "tip" point has been passed
Can you say "quack, quack"?

If there is another terrorist attack in the US the question is going to be "why didn't you stop it?"

Right now Congress is looking at 2006 with a Presidolt who thinks screwing with Social Security is a GOOD idea. He wants worldwide military adventures BUT the US public is getting too smart to buy the lies the recruiters are giving them.

By the way, in case anyone asks you, those "recruitment agreements" are bullshit. Once you're in, you're in, pal. Shut up, pick up that gun and go shoot some Ayrabs. Anyone who joins is going to spend a lot of time getting shot at while riding in vehicles that get blown up right under their feet.

Bush is done. The people who supported him (and I don't mean the red-neck, Xtian heretics) are the ones we have to worry about, whether its Frist or Delay, or even Tweety.

8. I think if we really get to that point....
it's time to march on Washington DC, 10million strong, and DEMAND a return to our constitution order. We demand another election that is free and fair to determine our real president. We demand that the administration leave the White House and publicly apologize to us and the rest of the world for their actions. Then they would be placed under arrest for all the crimes they have committed (hell, we already have some/most of the evidence) and we craft a new government in which all men (and women, and blacks, and latinos, and gays, and muslims, and christians, and agnostics, and poor people, and rich people, and corporate CEOs, and Ma' and Pa' store owners, and doctors, lawyers, teachers, steelworkers, software developers, basically, EVERYBODY) is created equal and garuanteed life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, as was originally intended. There, now sorry for the rant...

After reading your post I think I am in love! Seriously though, that is my fondest dream. Right now especially the part about placing them under arrest.

9. Your hypothetical is impossible.
There is no way he could drop below 30% because there are that many right wing wackos and fundies. They'll stick with Bush even if he molests a young boy on TV.

16. No way - if were actually CAUGHT and that is the key word Caught - in any
sexual peccadillo - the right wing would drop him like a hot potato. In fact even more so because they have put such blind trust in him and they would have to face the fact that they had been duped in a big way.

Again, the keyword is CAUGHT.

21. I'm not so sure about your percentages
I don't know how many fundies out there support Bush now, as opposed to last November. It seems to me that his right wing is getting narrower and narrower, not larger. We'll always have the RW crazies, they'll go down in the bunker with him, no doubt about it. But there are the rest of us and a grwoing number of questioners. As for a March on Washington, it could happen if the Bushies push through their SS privatization against the express wishes of the American people. You couple that with a RW Supreme Court justice nomination that is the vote to end Roe v. Wade, and the fallout from the bankruptcy bill and more garbage from the right, such as outlawing Living Wills and all forms of birth control that aren't "natural" and you've go a witches brew. Throw in a national recession (see Paul Krugman in today's NY Times) and there you go.

I'd like to think that the continuing failure of the Iraq war and our mounting casualties would be part of this brew but sadly, I know that Americans feel very strongly about their service people dying for their country. To rebel against the war to them might seem a disservice to their fallen soldier. It grieves me, but I think it is so.

What he did by dragging this nation to Iraq is an impeachable offense.

20. That would be the time for President Kerry, Vice President
Edwards and Secretary of State Gore to go to a safe place in a foreign country and order the troops in Iraq to stand down while they negotiate their safe conduct back to the United States. Gore could at the same time apologize for his choice of a running mate, he wanted a running mate, instead he appears to have gotten a running dog.

23. Wish I can find the article about
Bush's numbers are NOW lower than ON THE DAY Nixon resigned ! Also, I don't think Clinton ever dipped this low during Monicagate and his impeachment?

Funny, whenever this is brought up, the repubs go into damage control and bring up the war and raise terror alerts! I think the Centrists are finally catching on....I like to daydream too :)
