Vice President Dick Cheney said Monday he was offended by Amnesty International's condemnation of the United States for what it called "serious human rights violations" at Guantanamo Bay...

1. He probably doesn't take these folks seriously either

As long as he's in power, he won't have to do so I suppose, but there may come a day of reckoning just the same.

2. Scathing...
Schulz responded to Cheney's comments: "It doesn't matter whether he takes Amnesty International seriously.

"He doesn't take torture seriously; he doesn't take the Geneva Convention seriously; he doesn't take due process rights seriously; and he doesn't take international law seriously.

"And that is more important than whether he takes Amnesty International seriously."

8. Schultz can be obnoxious but he also can frame an argument with
Pin point precision.

9. Cheney shit on everything America stands for today.
"For Amnesty International to suggest that somehow the United States is a violator of human rights, I frankly just don't take them seriously."

This is the nature of fascism...absolutely no questioning of the absolute good and infallibility of the state. Dissent, in other words, cannot be taken seriously.

The crap Cheney spewed out of his mouth today has provoked a visceral anger in my unlike anything I have ever felt towards this administration and it's Un-American policies and rhetoric. The fact that he spewed it on a day when we honor those who have died for the principles of freedom and dissent America stands for makes it particularly repugnant.

:grr:
