Then you are going to have to deal with the media taking their comments out of context. IMO we need more politicians to "speak from the hip" and trust their audience to understand what they mean, and less intelligence insulting pap like "with us or agin' us".

It should also be apparent that the right wing base HATES us, and I'm sure the feeling is mutual. They will never vote for us or be persuaded by us to vote differently. They want complete control of the government with Jesus Christ as president and Dick Cheney as VP. It's becoming a political holy war with them. On the other hand, the casual republicans probably won't even pay attention to this fabricated drama nonsense about Dean's "controversial" statements designed to give the 24 hour news networks something to fill the air and get ratings.

Did they ever ask Santorum to explain his statement equating bestiality and homosexuality? Or Tom Delay's many bullshit statements about "killing" schiavo, or "dismembering" embryo's? No. Because people expect those fucking lunatics to say stupid shit like that all the time.

1. bingo
you are right on there.

We don't need to worry about Dean pissing off republicans, because they're not the ones who are voting for our candidates.

And we sure as hell don't need to bother listening to the media when they "inform" us that we're pissed off at Dean for alienating shitbag republicans with political rhetoric.

2. And we need to do what George Lakoff did to the C-Span host
when the host regurgitated the Reichwing Media's attack on Dean -- hit them with the Truth and make them wince.

3. Exactly...
Not this... "duh, er.. .Dean was way outta line, I mean, some of my best friends are republicans and... golly, they seem like nice enough folks... please don't hit me, it wasn't my fault!" crap from the democratic wiener brigade.
