3. Controlled, manipulative, entertainment n/t |

Decades of news in no way has explained to the public any sensible reality for the way the world was. If people had any concept of the way the world was, then the news could tell us how the world had changed that day. Then we would have news.
Mostly what we are talking about here at DU is history. That is what we need to understand before anything new makes sense.

as i haven't been paying attention for that long. The fallacy of the televised news and the inane subject matters, at a time when there is so much corruption and scandal brewing in the periphery is astounding. The reason why i posted was because of the power that it seems to have over people....like looking to get an apple from a pear tree.

5. Programmed by television |
|
One reason people watch television is for social currency. People are programmed by television for what to say at the water cooler and coffee pot. I liked that about trying to get an apple from a pear tree. That is exactly right. The Fantasy Five media moguls do not want you to know the real news and what we get is just a substitute.
We have a media by design of the extremely powerful like the Bilderbergers. People do not get news on television. They get conversational currency.
