Congress is looking at the polls... |
|
They see Bush's numbers sinking like a rock and they see their own numbers around 31% approval....and they are starting to worry. How will this worry manifest itself? The Representative from NC, Jones?, is only the first in line. My opinion is that we will see them march one or two at at a time to distance themselves from Bush and his policies between now and the next elections, as long as the numbers stay as low as they are now. Nothing like fear to make them "bi-partisans" and willing to criticize their leader...

3. There's an open seat in Ohio and a special election real soon |

Rob Portman-R went from Congress to WH trade representative. It will be interesting to see how the Dems do in Ohio in the short term. The districts here are so badly gerrymandered that the Dems only have a shot at six of them. Nonetheless, this could be a bellwether.

The repukes in Congress who don't "get it" are in for a rude awakening come November 7, 2006 (unless if Diebold comes to the rescue again).
