3. Honestly, we should probably be a bit concerned with those numbers.
Slate's a pretty left-of-center web site and I would opine that most of their readers are, as well.

The fact that 26% of self-described Democrats on a left-leaning web site think that this was a bad thing is a bit disconcerting. (The 17% who voted for C aren't showing much confidence, either.) Public perception is important, whether we like to believe so or not.

For the record, I voted B.

6. Dean is doing great with 11,536 votes, 57% overall picking option B.

67% of Democrats also picked option B, as well as 50% of Others.

The straw poll on Howard Dean:

DNC Chairman Howard Dean's recent spate of comments on Republicans has inflamed both GOPers and Dems. The inflammatory remarks -- including "They all behave the same, and they all look the same.", "It's pretty much a white Christian party.", and "They don't have any understanding of what it is to go out and try to make ends meet." -- have inspired not only heated debate, but a DTH Straw Poll query.

What sort of job do you think Dean's doing?

A. Bad, and that's bad. The good doctor seems to be suffering from bigmouth disease. The DNC needs a leader, not a flamer -- give Dean hiking papers and re-boot.

B. Good, and that's good. Soaring donations indicate there's money to be raised by speaking exaggeration to power. For every thing there is a season, even for over-the-topness.

C. Bad, and that's good. The head Dem wants to send Christians and white folk packing? Fine by me. Yeeeeeahhhhh!

7. They also don't read Doonesbury.
I've found that when you present to Republicans a message that, while true, they don't want to hear, they stick their fingers in their ears and go LA LA LA LA I CAN'T HEAR YOU!!!!!!!!!!!

Or they blame Bill Clinton's dick.
