So, wait - eminent domain for businesses to expand is bad, right? |
|
(again, pointing to the Connecticut no-win situation for the Dems)
Let's see . . . a big business wants to develop land that is already owned by "the little people" - usually an urban area that Republicans would firebomb, if they had a chance . . . the "little people" are getting in the way of the big businesses's profits . . . big businesses, not wanting to actually shell out money to entice these people to move, use the local govt to force the issue, citing the wonderful tax income that will follow (somehow forgetting to mention that they are seeking tax abatements and breaks just to bring the business in) . . . this is bad for Repukes?
Someone should mention this all to the people who had their land condemned so that some pissant minority owner of the Texas Rangers (with political connections) could have a brand-spankin' new stadium . . .

1. What is up with the left-leaning Judges? |
|
I expected this to be a Rehnquist/Scalia/Thomas push, but I AGREE WITH THEM on this issue.

2. Like I said in other posts - it's a no-win situation for the left |
|
if they decided against the communities, they media would be quoting the anti-business, anti-states' rights positions of the lefties instead of the "pro-government" quotes.
The Righties will enjoy this because their business interests can do all the profiting from the land grabs, and then place all the blame on the "democrats" (read: urban vote) for people having their land taken away.

I think Republicans will react just as strongly to this as we will.

6. Or the government can eminent domain big business. |
|
Let's see what happens when cities start using eminent domain on the places where the energy industry wants to establish liquid natural gas facilities.
